Emmie, what did you mention in your post at 13.58 about Maggie May ,
being forced on to the British Public, never elected in a General Election ???? eh.
Question Author
well Blair proved his worth, highest immigration since the windrush. yes Ms May was not elected, but would suggest if she threw down the gauntlet and called a general election, she would win.
Northern Ireland peace process went pretty well. Iraq didn't. You win some, you lose some.
Question Author
the peace process wasn't just down to Blair, it had been coming on a long while before he got to power.
Question Author
i know its wiki but it shows that this process had been going on a long while.

"Blair was voted in three times!" - yep, by people like gulliver! enough said.
People have such short memories !

They always forget that Blair rescued Britain from years and years of nasty Tory rule. When he and the Labour Party were elected in 1997, it was with the biggest majority that had been seen in modern times, larger even then 1945. He then won a further 2 more Elections and would probably gone on to win a third, if he had not handed over the reins to Brown. Even then, in 2010, the LibDems had to hold their collective noses, and prop up a shaky Tory administration.

Throughout his terms in Downing Street, he had large, workable majorities, something the Tories have yet to achieve since 2010 and can only dream of.

hereiam...you mention being deluded....enough people were "deluded" to make sure everything above happened .....millions of people voted Labour, even in 2010 and 2015.
gulliver, we don't elect Prime Ministers. Gordon Brown succeeded Tony Blair mid-term. Remember? No?

Emmie, Tony Blair's credibility faded a long time ago.
Question Author
TTT maybe, however you can't get over the fact he won three elections. I didn't like him from the word go, and certainly would never have voted for him.
Question Author
Gordon got in on the back of Blair, so no need to make comparisons.
Mikey, //millions of people voted Labour, even in 2010 and 2015. //

And many voted for Blair once - and never voted Labour again.
Emmie....the difficulty is that if you couldn't bring yourself to vote for Blair, than you couldn't vote Labour. In Britain, there are only two alternatives for a workable Government, Labour or the the Tories.

So if you couldn't vote for Blair in 1997, 2001, and 2005, you might as well have voted Tory. Thank goodness not enough people did.
//he is advocating a second referendum, what would be the point.// the point being that we, the thick public hadn't a clue what we were doing & should have another go & " get it right".
gawd elp us emmie you've started mikey off now! get the old rose tinted specs and play a bit of D. Ream! There you go mikey:

Poor Mikey. Still resting on long-wilted laurels.
Rose tinted glasses are not needed TT....just a knowledge and appreciation of recent history, which some people seem to forget or ignore.
They don't ignore or forget, Mikey. That's why Labour is now just an 'also ran'.
Question Author
its true i am no Labour supporter, however i thought Blair a snake oil salesman then, and i haven't changed my opinion.
Blair would not have won a fourth election and he knew it. That is why he handed over to Brown so that he could retire relatively undamaged.
Emmie....that is your prerogative ! I am merely pointing out that when it comes to electing a Government, we really only have 2 choices. If you feel that you can't vote for Labour or the Tories, any other vote is wasted.
