Emmie...he promised to bring in the National Minimum Wage, something the Tories showed no sign of wanting to do, in all the years from 1979 to 1997.

He also promised to bring in devolution for Wales and Scotland.....admittedly, not hugely popular in the Tory shire of olde England, but we like it here in the Celtic fringes !
Emmie 17.53 Saint Theresa of the Tories got in on the back of Cameron .

Does Blair Have Any Credibility Left

Nope, hasn't for a long time now.
No. I have never given him any credence. I almost voted for him the first time - then I looked thrice at his eyes...... and abstained. Mr. J2 did vote for him 1st time because the alternative seemed so dire - and has regretted it ever since. Blair only got in 3 times because the Tories were a hopeless shambles at the time - rather as Labour is now, but not as bad. Blair has completely lost touch with reality - and demonstrated how much he cares about democracy in the process..
gulliver, //Yes Blair was voted in T H R E E T I M E S , YES T H R E E T I M E S, Big LOL. //

I hate to tell you this but so was Mrs Thatcher. Oops!
And she was a proper conservative.
Henry VIII statutes will do. They are still law, yippee! When you come to think of it, he led the first 'out of Europe' movement (slightly suspect motives, ok, but still ...) It will speed things up and simplify them. We are all Tudors now? :o)
Blair's solution (in his Andrew Marr interview) is to stay in a "reformed" EU! Cameron asked for some reforms prior to the referendum, and look where that got him. If we go crawling back to the EU having changed our minds about Brexit, what leverage will we have to demand reform? They will laugh in our face and ignore anything we have to say.
Exactly, foxspur.
I suspect Blair knows that he has no credibility left and sees this as an opportunity to try and gain some. A large percentage of the population aren’t happy with Brexit so presumably he thinks he can become their hero. What he fails to grasp is that, contrary to what many on here would have you think, most of us who wanted to remain accept the result.

I don't agree with Foxpur at all. There is no way even a delusional Tony Blair would try and keep us in the EU with a worse deal than before. The EU would be prepared to make some concessions as members are worried about its future. I doubt those concessions would be enough, but there would I am sure be some on offer.
I would just add that although I can't stand Tony Blair and wouldn't trust him as far as I can throw him, I don't think he is stupid. He is also very well connected, so I would imagine he already knows what concessions he could get agreement on.
