Not that I can think of SP1814. Still it's symbolic, an act of remembrance as you well know.

Might as well say why recall the slaughter of war with fake flowers.

are there any?

/// AOG

You're making yourself look foolish.

You should stop. ///

That's it out comes the name calling, in a bid to stifle debate.

What is a matter are the racist, islamophobic cards not getting the required effect?

But I have a feeling that this thread is going to run a little while longer, so if it is upsetting you too much, may I suggest that you get on with what you are employed to do?

aog - you asked a question .

Be prepared to receive answers which you like / don't like
Whilst we're at it let's denounce all Jews.

After all, which religion didn't like Jesus?

Bring out the "tar brush", there be some what need painting!!
It's not name-calling.

You asked a stupid question. If you don't think it's stupid, please explain why.

I've given you examples of why it is a question without merit.

I've looked at your link, and it is clear that it refers to an extreme political group called Hizb ut-Tahrir.

It's literally the same as someone asking whether all Christians hold the same belief as the Westboro Baptist Church or NTCC or Deanery of Strandebarm or the Conservative Baptist Association.

It belies a basic understanding of humanity.

I don't mind in the least if some disagree with me, that is what debates are all about.

But what I won't allow if for certain people to call me stupid and those who take my headline literally, I mean who could possibly know?
But anyway - I think you have my answer. No, not all Muslim women think this way.

Others may disagree and put forward that every Muslim women from all denominations of the religion in every country in the world, whether they be fundamentalist, hardline, moderate or westernised believe that it is fine to be beaten by her husband, however I would doubt the accuracy of that argument.
//I mean who could possibly know? //

;-)
Aog, if you ask a "Alf Garnett" or an "Eddie Booth" style of question what response do you expect?
AOG

1. I didn't call you stupid. I said your question is stupid.

2. I said you were making yourself look a fool. By saying that, I am indicating that you are not a fool (a fool cannot make himself look a fool, because he already is one).

3. Your reactions here could lead people to accuse you of being 'a snowflake'.
I don't know Emmie, but if there were I doubt they would hang around AB very long, especially to view the daily anti Muslim threads.
The OP question was daft for more than one reason.
One of the reasons it is daft is because it is difficult enough to get a straight and honest answer from many posters as it is when it comes to Islam.

A typical reply from sp1814 to my earlier post.

And millions do not, because there are literally dozens of different sects within Islam, all of whom follow different interpretations of the Koran.

Every now and again I would like to read something like

.... yes, that is unfortunately true -Talbot-
AOG

Who could possibly know?

Easy - anyone who has Muslim friend and co-workers.

Anyone who has a broad understanding of human beings.

Basically, all sentient people.
-Talbot-

Already answered.

No, not all Muslim women think like this.

However, I would not be surprised if Muslim women who follow the teachings of the Caucasus Emirates, Al-Shabaab, Islamic State or Ansar Dine believed in this form of punishment.

I don't however, believe that the Muslim woman who heads up my GP surgery in north Islington subjects herself to beatings from her husband when she gets home after work because she's had a glass of Malbec with lunch.
Quite some time ago every thread I read on Ab in news and/or religion was anti Muslim.

Now I'm very happy to read that not everyone is anti Muslim.

It show's that some people recognise the difference between extremists and those that wish to follow a religion.

I'm not a religious person, but, I do respect the thoughts and life styles of those who are.

Some people need to recognise the difference between extremists and others with different ideals different to there own.

Not everyone with different ideals is a terrorist.
"there"

Please substitute "their".

Before some "spelling Nazi" corrects me ;-)

I am surprised by the fact that as a female, you would have took this opportunity to convey your remarks against what these fellow women were saying, rather than criticise me for what you obviously consider an anti-Muslim thread.

*** Other permissible methods to punish women involve using a twisted scarf or piece of fabric, the women say. ***

*** Ms Allouche says the act is 'symbolic', while Ms Latifi claims it's 'a beautiful blessing'. ***

Nothing to say about that then? Strange very strange.
The way I see it , Ozzy is that there are far, far more women being abused under the banner of Islam than any other major religion but all too many people would rather ignore that ... wouldn't want to sound like an Islamophobe would we!
You didn't ask about that, AOG, you asked whether '...All muslim women think this way?' and that is the question the majority of posters have answered.
If you had wanted to discuss the rights and wrongs of 'chastisement', you'd have done better to make that the headline question.

But then you already knew that, didn't you....?
