I am old enough to remember 1979, when people wrote off the Labour Party, as you are trying to do now. And yet a few years later in 1997, Labour came back with the largest landslide victory since their last biggest landslide victory in 1945.
The size of that 1997 landslide was even more than in the Tory win of 1979.
Similar things were being said about the Tories in 1997, when they only managed to get 165 seats, against Labours 418.
But they bounced back, even though it took them 3 elections to do so.
