'By distancing herself from the party founded by her father in 1972, Ms Le Pen hoped to reach out to potential voters who backed the Eurosceptic and protectionist far-Left candidate, Jean-Luc Mélénchon, and François Fillon, the defeated conservative, some of whose harder-line supporters could vote FN.'

The fact that the whole French establishment - international capital, the banking and the stock markets - all rallied on the outcome of the election yesterday in France. That demonstrates that Macron is the establishment candidate, and he will deliver a very weak France, which is exactly what Brussels and Berlin want.
Funny how people get different things from the same information. I see the stock markets rallying because investors are reassured that the majority of French voters don’t want to leave the EU and do want to keep the euro, which means less turmoil. Democracy in action, unless it isn’t what you wanted of course.
Le Pen has actually lost support from some older voters with her "cancel the euro" stuff as it would likely cripple their savings. I think her idea at one point was to bring back the franc and also have the euro.
She is or was under investigation for inappropriate use of EU funding (funny how that seems to be a pattern with anti-EU parties!)

ichi; "She [Marine] denied the allegations of fraud and said she would not “submit to persecution” by repaying the money.
In a statement to Reuters news agency, Le Pen described the demand as “a unilateral decision taken by political opponents ... without proof and without waiting for a judgment from the court action I have started”. "
