What Would Have Happened If He Had Been A Muslim?
http:// www.dai lymail. co.uk/n ews/art icle-44 46052/R E-teach er-figh t-decis ion-thr ow-cour se.html
Would he have still been thrown out if he had been a muslim and said gay marriage was against his religion ? I somehow think not.

Sorry, but you're wrong. When Christians use the Bible to justify their attitude to gay people, they refer to the line about it being an abomination.
That's all they refer to.
They are totally being selective if they ignore all the scriptures I've posted, but hang on to the abomination thing in order to berate gay people.
And speaking of which - why is gay sex a sin, but not paedophilia?
Seriously - why should any of us listen to those who follow teachings that condemn one and not the other?

Well, they're wrong.
That's not an opinion, it's logic.
How can someone be a sinner if they've done nothing wrong?
A sinner is someone who's actions negatively affect a third party.
A murderer, rapist, their etc - they're all sinners.
They make the world a worse place.
Being gay doesn't actually make the world a worst place. Not religious fundamentalist is going to convince me of this.
I suppose you have to decide on which side of the fence you sit.

Christians don't get their morality from the Old Testament, they get it from the words and example of Christ. Christ on the Mosaic law:
"Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill.".
" Master, which is the great commandment in the law?
Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
This is the first and great commandment.
And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets"
And on the punishments prescribed in the Torah in particular:
"He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone.".
Christians are taught to hate the sin, but love the sinner:
"Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill.".

Back to the question; I have another one. Should anyone who believes gay marriage is a sin be a Social Worker?

It would be great if Christians (and all other religions) followed that path, but unfortunately, it's one thing to be taught something and something very different to live with those teachings.
Christians are human beings. There are millions who don't agree with teachings on homosexuality, and have progressive views.
There are those who (like fundamentalists of other hues) have let the teachings grow into hatred.

Oh, back to the OP.
Anybody remember the prince who went looking for a bride and ended up "marrying" the brother of one of the candidates?

As long as Christians are only applying the word 'sin' to other Christians, that's fine. I couldn't care less - but what they need to appreciate is that in the secular world, we don't believe in God, therefore, they should not label us as sinners...because there's no way we can transgress against something that we do not believe in.

I do not believe the bits in the Bible about pillage and rape etc but I do believe in the right to speak about such matters!
This man is being denied his right to speak freely about Christianity and The Bible. This is about something far more fundamental than the immediate issue of Gay sex and what the Bible says, it is about freedom of speech!
The 'Gay Lobby' refuses to even allow debate of the possibility that there could be anything wrong with same sex marriage.
To my mind, that is wrong!

Remember the furore when gay people were mentioned in maths classes?

Seriously - I'd steer well clear of schools / gay references, because for every Muslim their high horse, you will find ten Daily Mail readers all on extremely high horses.
Literally twenty foot high horses, cantering around the Outrage Paddock.

Christians can hold traditional views on homosexuality and still treat gays decently and oppose discrimination against them, SP. Some posts conflate the traditional view with hatred of gays. It's a non sequitur.

He has every right to stand by what he says and talk about gay marriage being sinful.
He doesn't have the right to attend Sheffield University.
Nothing to do with free speech.
If he want, he can shout anything he wants online, but he doesn't have the right to attend the university if the dean of admissions sees fit.
And by the way - for 'gay lobby', could we not just say, 'people'. When people such as you use the term 'gay lobby', it makes it sound like it's just a phalanx of hardcore gay people who are hijacking the narrative, whereas in fact, you'll find that the majority of people are now in the pro marriage equality camp.
And once again - same sex marriage in itself IS NOT SINFUL.
That's simply not possible.
