I don't think he'd have to resign - they are running out of even vaguely plausible leadership candidates. 2 or 3 extra seats would please them i.m.o..

I think Corbyn's got more chance of reaching Murdo's figure than Timmy has.

There's be no point in Tim Farron resigning. Why would he do that? No one knows what the shape of the opposition will be after the election. A realignment is even possible.
In 2010 the lib Dems lost seats and yet Nick Clegg ended up as deputy PM! There'll be no coalitions of course this time.

I agree Ick, I can see no plausible reason TNBD would have to resign, apart from winning no seats at all. And that is not going to happen.

OK. How about Jeremy Corbyn? Will he resign?

That's possible, Hoppy. He is much happier leading a protest movement and expounding his beliefs (I think he is a sincere man) than leading a party i.m.o.. It would probably depend on if he thinks that Labour is securely set on the course he believes in.

After the election, assuming Labour has not won, the party will not have a clue which direction it is going in. There will be a choice in becoming a serious voter friendly party that can challenge the Tories, or to carry on as it is now. Those on the left will have even less credibility than before in claiming they Labour lost because it was 'too like the tories' or too 'blairite'.
If Corbyn did not resign after a hammering I shudder to think what might happen

Normally a party leader resigns after a thumping, but Jeremy isn't a 'normal' politician. Perhaps he will be like the Black Knight in Monty Python's Holy Grail. "tis just a scratch"
