Oh Dear. Jeremy Corbyn Does A Michael Howard

Corbyn was asked 6 times whether, if he became PM (Ha!), come what may would we leave EU, and 6 times he failed, and for failed read refused, to provide an answer to this question.

Does this give those Labour voters who voted leave a dilemma?

May has long since abandoned "no deal better than bad deal" which is in any case also meaningless, because a bad anything is, well, bad.

One could simply state that barring any major change of circumstances that would make it unreasonable to continue, then the party is committed to carrying out the democratic will of the country and leave the EU. We'd all know he'd left a loophole to claim any nonsense was a major change, but I don't think he'd get away with that were he to try it. Meanwhile he isn;t going to be in charge anyway so it is academic. But knowing that one wodnders why give a glimmer of hope to those who lost the refrendum instead of uniting the coutry more by getting realistic instead, and encourage a more reasonab?

funny because it's a very easy answer. here jezza borrow this: "The decision has been made by the people and parliament, the PM has triggered A50, I could not stop it if I wanted to, I also voted with the government to invoke article 50, now do you have a question relevant to the general election or not? "

He has demonstrated, yet again, that he should have remained a back-bencher.

It's a childish game that journalists and politicians play amongst themselves - a bit like that one where someone fires questions at you and you can't use the words yes or no.

The journalist tries to get the politician to give a simple black and white answer to something - usually to try and trick them into making some kind of 'gaffe' (because a yes/no answer may not actually be appropriate), and the politician has to avoid giving one whether it's appropriate or not.

I wouldn't read much else into it.
