Well here are some figures:

/// A 2011 study by the Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre looked at the 2,379 potential offenders caught grooming girls since 2008. Of 940 suspects whose race could be identified, 26% were Asian, 38% were white and 32% were recorded as unknown. Asians are roughly 7% of the population. ///
mamyalynne, //the constant bleating of 'I blame the liberal elite' is doing nothing to help our children and young people at risk.//

I disagree. It is acknowledged that gangs of abusers were ignored for fear of creating offence and therefore it is imperative to recognise the source of much of the problem. Regardless of the ethnicity of the perpetrator, abuse should never be ignored – no matter how unpalatable the truth is and no matter how much ‘offence’ is caused.
I put the blame on the liberal elite because that is where it belongs for the apparent proliferation of child abuse among Asian men. The constant howls of 'Racist' or some ism meant the Police felt their hands were tied so they did nothing.

AOG, there are lies, damn lies and statistics. I strongly suspect that the reason the asian men are showing higher at present is because the high profile cases have meant the police can and are not going after them. As many were getting away with it and not being locked up as other groups were there are more about and this will cause a spike.

We will not really know whether asian men are more prolific child abusers until this all levels out. I suspect they are not though.
//Today's abusers are NOT mainly Asian men //
I'm afraid that just isn't true, the census reveals that there are over 3 million Muslims (men women and children) living in the UK, if you single out the men you might for argument's sake have 1million - roughly one sixtieth of the population and if you take the amount of convictions within that group you must see that it is a hugely disproportionate amount of crimes being committed by that cohort and there lies a serious problem.
The figures are approximate, - but you should get the idea.

Me too.
Khandro, please read my explanations as to why it is dangerous to accept these stats without looking further.
ymb; I've looked at your 'explanations' and they are gibberish, you are simply in denial.
This is nothing at all to do with racism it is to do with vast cultural and religious differences. Child sexual abuse is widespread in countries where these people come from (and it matters not if some of them were born here) and the founder of their religion whom they revere, was himself a paedophile, - a 52 year old man having sex with a 9 year old child.
A factor that the vast majority of these incidents have in common is not their religion, or their occupation.

Its their sex....they are all men.
Quite right too.
Yes...about ruddy time !
mikey; Individual men interfering with boys isn't excusable, but even you must agree that it isn't the same as organised gangs of Asian men grooming, drugging, scaring and passing around vulnerable girl children for their warped sexual satisfaction.
No it is not gibberish. If you dont arrest a group for whatever reason then it gets highlighted you were treating them differently so you start targeting that group it will skew the figures. It's not rocket science.
Mikey at 1600, I seriously wonder what goes on in your head at times, I really do.
The very worst thing that the authorities can do, is ignore sexual abuse by Muslim men (predominantly from Pakistan), because that gives brain dead bigots the excuse to tar all Muslim men with the same brush.

It's a huge mistake to brush this under the carpet.

I celebrate the apprehension of any child abuser.
The other thing that needs to be recognised is that in way too many cases, these girls were brushed off because they were not believed. They were viewed as poor prosecution witnesses because they were not 'the right type of child'. They were already damaged - in the care system.

Too many times, these victims were simply not believed, because they were not nice middle class girls.

We need to change the way we address sexual abuse - and we need to stop this 'cry rape' nonsense.

I think we all are aware of the ridiculously low number of sex offence cases that make it to trial.
Khandro...of course I deplore gangs of men grooming young girls. I have done so on many previous occasions, especially this week after the "Three Girls" drama was broadcast on the BBC.

I have not seen anybody NOT deplore that kind of activity. But I will never come to the conclusion that many do, that because those perverts were guilty of sexual abuse, all Asian/ Muslim men are potentially capable of that kind of abuse, any more so than any other man. Its the maleness, not the religion that is the cause of child abuse

The charging of George Osborne went strangely unreported on AB, but if he had been a Muslim, it would have been headline news.
mikey; absolutely nobody, nobody, nobody, has said either on AB or anywhere else I know of that " all Asian/ Muslim men are potentially capable of that kind of abuse,".

George Osborne !! do you know something we don't know? :0)
My abject apologies to George Osborne ....I meant, of course,
George Ormond !
