....The usual cobblers from Theresa May. Not just her. We get this all the time. They won't, disrupt us/attack on democracy/we are stronger/we will move forward/security working hard etc etc. You will never stop someone who wants to kill his or herself. No matter how they want to do it. People are talking about the goodness in Muslims, e.g. the taxi drivers last night(were they all Muslims?), medical staff, security staff etc. but I would bet the suicide bomber wasn't a white person. We keep hearing all this guff about Muslims but the fact is (and it IS a fact) that all these terror attacks are perpetrated by Muslims. Don't dress it up. Don't try and be weedy and feeble about how nice they are. Somewhere inside the Muslim community there is a poisonous element who want to murder British people. Fact. But don't mention it to anyone. We don't want to upset them do we?

Looks to me like worse has been said.

And some posts come very close to appearing like sympathy.

Plenty is dished out to TTT, Naomi, me AOG and a few others but if we answer back it is us that is pilloried. Something is not quite right.

When something is getting heated perhaps a temporary suspension of the 'combatants' until it had calmed down would be more in order?
To an extent, there's much truth in what 10ClarionSt has posted in his opening question.

As long as there are fanatics with access to information on bomb-making equipment on the dark web, and extremist material elsewhere on the Internet, there will always be the danger of attacks.

Radicslised Islamist (note: Islamist, not Islamic) attacks are difficult for the security services to prevent because of their sheer randomness.

We are not talking about organised cells, but individuals who take it upon themselves to create as much discord, misery and pain as possible.
TGT calls anyone not frothing at the mouth an apologist or sympathiser.......a deeply offensive accusation especially on a day like today.
He's a grown-up and doesn't need molly-coddling and if he can't stop himself from posting nasty things, someone else has to do it. And by the look of it, they have,
It does feel like anyone who isn't 100% on board with interning all Muslims without trial or - even just stopping immigration altogether as was suggested in another thread - is going to get pounced on as a limp-wristed yoghurt-knitting softy...

Oh well. I can take it.
Perhaps we all need to keep a cool head and try to discuss this, rather than using this tradegy to score points against one another.

This event will obviously make everyone upset - but let's try to see others' points of view.
And I can take your pious bleatings Krom ...
Charming. Thanks.
No problem.
Hazi-Hammenuhoth //What would you do about it if you were PM?//

As these acts are perpetrated in the name of Islam I would take action against to Islamic community from whence it comes. I would close down Manchester's largest mosque for 6 months, any further attacks during that period, I would bulldoze it to the ground.
It's known as collective responsibility;
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Collective_responsibility
I think about halfway down that link of yours there's a pretty decent reason for *not* adopting that approach.
Jim; Do you refer to under 'Criticism' ; "The notion of collective culpability seems to deny individual moral responsibility."
I don't know if that's what Jim was referring to, Khandro, but that is how I see it. They can make all the excuses in the world- they are still murderers.
I was more thinking of the last two paragraphs in the "Collective Punishment" section.

"As these acts are perpetrated in the name of Islam I would take action against to Islamic community from whence it comes. I would close down Manchester's largest mosque for 6 months, any further attacks during that period, I would bulldoze it to the ground."

That's not a bad idea, Khandro. What will actually happen though, we'll hold a candle-lit vigil in Manchester and people will put one of those Union Jack things on their Facebook avatars. How's that for effective action!!!
//perpetrated in the name of...//
By the terrorists.
Usual bullsh** about Muslims. Of course they're all terrorists just like all Englishmen are Morris Dancers and all Scotsmen wear kilts!
maggiebee, maybe not..but how many give tacit approval? the traditionalists with their burka's and men pyjamas. many do not like non muslims.
Youngmafbog.....can you point me to at least one post on which anyone appears to sympathise with the scum that murdered those innocent people last night?
I'm not saying you are wrong...just that I can't see it.
Can we also have ' they're all terrorists' pointed out.

Fact is ... far too many are potential terrorists.
