What Would You Do?

I've seen that a lot in the replies and posts on here since Monday night. One man on the radio this morning, a former senior member of COBRA, said the answer is to deport all those with known connections to terrorism. Even if there isn't enough evidence to bring them to trial. If their activities have brought them to the attention of the security forces, they should be deported without any questions being asked. Summary dismissal!

You're surely not suggesting we lock people up before they have actually killed anyone? Good gracious!
It seems to me that most of the perpetrators are known to the security services, but dare suggest confining them and all hell breaks loose!

//Of course the bomber was Muslim, as they were all the ones associated with the 7/7 outrages. But the vast majority of other Muslims are not terrorists. And I refuse to tar everybody with the same brush. //
quite true. but that minority who are not of a mind to get on with the job and the rest of society have entrenched views. you cannot reason with them, much as our politicos like to insist that a cup of tea will make them see our point of view. it won't. their way is the only way; after all the name of their creed is derived from the Arabic "al-silm" - "submission". you will submit. or their religious teachings (as they see it) justify your execution.
whether some of the solutions already postulated are workable or legal has yet to be tested. but if we do not act, what "what would you do" would amount to an acceptance by society that we tolerate random public killings.

All I want to know is, when the Muslim and Christian opposing masses eventually coalesce and begin to wage open war on each other, will we be issued with weapons or have to acquire our own. It may mean that the terrorists and their, for now, covert supporters have an advantage seeing as they appear to have no problem obtaining guns and explosives from their overseas sponsors.
What would I do ???
We are always told how strong family ties are in the community that is carrying out the current despicable and cowardly acts. This (to me) means that plenty of people in that family circle know what is going on and have chosen not to stop it.
I'd like to see a process of 'registering a dissociation' - if you haven't done this and a member of your family plans and/or commits a terrorrist act then you are instantly thrown out of the UK - don't ask me where to, I don't actually care - as long as it is uncivilised and unpleasant it will do.
Family for this purpose to mean blood or marital association in all directions for two generations and two degrees of separation.
This would have the bonus effect that anyone who was 'disowned' by the family through this process was instantly 'of interest' to the security services ...

/// But the vast majority of other Muslims are not terrorists. And I refuse to tar everybody with the same brush. ///
Do you mean those who have not yet committed an act of terrorism, I suspect some like you would have classed this monster as a very nice Muslim boy who was good to his mother and father, and who worked hard and hoped to become a doctor.
That was until he was found out to be what he actually was.
In times like these we are constantly told to be vigilant, and if that means being wary of all Muslims, it's a pity but for our own safety so be it.

Interesting point raised there, if there were to be a war in this country between Muslims and Christians, I wonder on whose side the 'peaceful' Muslims would chose to side with, the Radical Muslims or ours?

It was announced that the mass killer was known to the security forces and that some had reported him to the police.
Since it appears that no action was taken against him and if it had all those killed would still be alive, I think that an inquiry should be set up immediately and those who are found to be lacking in taking action should be removed from their posts and in some cases criminally charged.
