Jim, //That's from the same school of rhetoric as "Brexit means Brexit"... // Not quite sure how you work that out, but the mentality of the naïve – or those on the lookout for a freebie - never ceases to amaze me, so I’m pretty philosophical about the outcome of elections. I listened to Jeremy Corbyn today telling us that a Labour government will change the...

What promises is making now?
Why hate to say it Scooping ?

Corbyn is showing that he has what it takes, despite all that Mrs May can throw at him...perhaps its his policies that getting popular !
Don't be fooled by his increasing ability to portray a calm and collected leader, filled with good ideas and an ability to communicate them effectively to the public in a manner that appeals. It's all a facade...
Don't 'hate' to say it, say it with pride ..!
Corbyn is the man, at least he doesn't have to hire people to turn up and hear him speak- it's the same half a dozen people everywhere Teresa May goes which does either smack of paid toadies or desperate hangers on, Corbyn speaks to thousands everywhere he goes, I don't understand why people on this site find it so unbelievable that he can do the job, the populace don't think so, his popularity increases every day and May's plummets.
Is it a real possibility that Labour will not be trounced , as was widely expected when May Called the runners and riders to the start line ?
kvalidir, history is littered with politicians who swept to power on waves of populism then crashed and burned (or caused their country to). being popular is not synonymous with ability.
I would hate to see Corbyn's socialism running the country, but I have to give credit where credit is due - he is hammering May in the campaign stakes. It is a dangerous combination of him getting it all right, and May getting it all wrong, which of course closes the gap double quickly. This could go down to the wire.
//perhaps its his policies that getting popular !//

Doubtless Mikey. Promises of Utopia – and all for free! Whoopee! What’s not to like?

I wouldn’t trust him to organise a chimps’ tea party!

I hate to say it because I'm a Tory. And I'm certainly not fooled by Corbyn. And, yes, he's hammering May in the campaign. Terrible campaign by us lot.
As Neil Kinnock did , and look what happened to him.
''I wouldn’t trust him to organise a chimps’ tea party!'' - Maybe not Naomi, but at least he might actually turn up to do it lol.
kvaldir - and you think that the crowd outside in Cambridge last night were not mustered together by Labour HQ? The thought of Corbyn and Trump in cahoots frightens me to death.
What you need to do scooping , is pray for a Gordon Brown moment
kvalidir, not with you. Who was supposed to arrive but didn't?
You are perfectly with me Naomi- feigning stupidity doesn't suit you. Theresa May- the Lady's not for turning (up).

Bazille: Already on my knees.
kvalidir, no, I wasn't with you because you're mistaken. Mrs May was never scheduled to be there so was never expected to 'turn up'. Errr.... lol.
I live just outside Cambridge and went there last night in the hope of seeing Corbyn. There were 1,000 s there I instantly knew I stood no hope and headed for the pub instead which was packed to the doors with others on the same mission as me.
There is NO POSSIBLE CHANCE that those people were 'MUSTERED BY THE LABOUR HQ!
I WAS THERE ! saw and heard it for myself .
Even the police who I spoke to could hardly believe how popular he was!
