/// The Conservative candidate for South Thanet has been charged with allegedly overspending in the 2015 General Election campaign. ///

So what's new, the Labour Governments overspend throughout their terms in office?

Scooping....can I remind you that the Brum Six were convicted due to a catalogue of errors by the Police, some of which was a deliberate attempt at framing.

Their convictions were declared unjust and unsatisfactory and quashed by the Court of Appeal on 14 March 1991.

So, a very poor analogy to make.

Any suggestion that the CPS may be politically moved to arrest and charge Mackinlay is risible in the extreme.
"They have had since April so why announce this a few days before an election? I think an investigation into the political views of the CPS who made the call needs to be done."

Something something Comey something something Clinton emails ... grumble...

Tricky one for voters with possible guilt unable to be established before polling day.

As always though, voters have to vote with their heads not their hearts.

A seed of doubt remains as to whether the rules were broken but I don't think it will have a serious impact on the outcome.
Surely all expenses are the province of the party staff. I cannot see the candidate having any part to play in this instance at all.
