Ron....if May wins on Thursday and I can't see it NOT happening, then we can all look forward to another 5 years of austerity.....not for the wealthy, of course, but for the rest of us....to paraphrase Labour's slogan.....

With you approaching retirement Mikey, I would have thought you would have had the nous to do what most have done and prepare financially for it, but it sounds as if you have adopted the Labour Mantra of
'it's going to be ok, soak the wealthy, they can afford to keep me'

Most governments have the same problem. I seem to remember the Tories in 2010 (and then the Coalition, via Osborne) make the promise that the fiscal deficit would be gone by now, or at least halved, or something. That didn't even remotely happen. Labour aren't special in that regard, then.
