had Labour not opened the doors wide in the first instance we might not have half the problem we have now. once in its jolly hard to kick them out..

my hairdresser reckons he will close his business if Labour get in, i wasn't sure if he was serious or not.
Kromo, still waiting for you to find me using "strong and stable" somewhere!
There's an example in your last post, if that helps kromo :P
Since Mrs May's implosion of a few days ago, I haven't heard any Tory use the "Strong and Stable" mantra any more.
I'm wondering how 'austerity' has affected Mikey? Just as well he's retiring soon though. If Labour get in, he and many more could well be out of a job. Then they'll know what 'austerity' is all about.
Mikey, what 'implosion'?
Fiscal and Budget irresponsibility will undo all the good work on the deficit absolute and percentage.

Before we vote, let us not forget the immortal words of Liam Byrne when he exited the Treasury, "Dear Chief Secretary, I’m afraid there is no money. Kind regards – and good luck! Liam." I fear the Labour Party would do the same again.
Those same sentiments were written in 1964 by the outgoing Tory chancellor, Reginald Maudling, to his incoming Labour replacement, Jim Callaghan.
Emmie...can I remind you that the Tories have also been letting in migrants with gay abandon, since 2010, as their promise to lessen inward migration has been laughable.

Most of these terrorists that have struck here in Britain, were the off-spring of people that settled here many years ago, so this isn't a recent problem.
such acts of terrorism must be deemed as treason as, ultimately, it is against the State.......short-term, double pr triple the sentences, medium term, anyone on the 500 cases, revoke their passports/immigration permits as they are not British - and kick them out. And two fingers to Human Rights about carrying a UK passport, they have conducted acts against us - yes, there should be a due process of court review before this expulsion is enacted.
After the war William Joyce (Lord Haw-Haw) was put on trial for treason. In his defence it was argued that he could not be guilty of treason as he was an American citizen and as such owed no allegiance to the Crown. However, he had applied for, and been granted, a British passport. This was enough to send him to the gallows.
Mikey, //Most of these terrorists that have struck here in Britain, were the off-spring of people that settled here many years ago, so this isn't a recent problem. //

In that case, why wasn't it happening many years ago? We're importing something quite different now.
There is one day of campaigning left and the Tories have a double digit lead in the polls, so I am not sure it matters.
I think a Labour victory requires a victory of Foinavon proportions so I don't think we need to worry about Labour promises...
Mikey, //and remember the Tory pledge on immigration ! //

Well, they couldn't do much about all those eastern Europeans who trotted along here once the gate was open, but cheer up - all that's about to change. ;o)
Latest EC prediction is Tory majority of 72, a lot less than the 170 predicted a fortnight ago but still healthy enough. What intrigues me is they have the LDs down to 3 seats. I wonder who the victims will be. If Farron and Clegg it would be the icing on the cake for me.
“…a slight increase in tax for those earning over £85k,”

Somebody earning £500,000 currently pays £210,000 tax (more than enough I think and that's without his £13,524 NI Contributions). Under the Labour proposals he will pay £23,000 (11%) more. I don’t call that “slight”. Neither would they and they will take steps to reduce their liability.
