reminds me.. of when in the states, driving a mates dodge challenger srt, i was not ready for the power of it, so easy to crash in such a car
if your not capable, even after driving jaguars many years ago.

So I wonder what happened. The road was closed and there was nothing else on it say the reports. I hope it wasn't anything he did or didn't do. Fault with the car perhaps? Oil on the road?

I hope he recovers, but from what I've seen of his driving in the past I think he would fail his basic test, ie, one hand on wheel, not concentrating on the road ahead.
I think his old show Top Gear was a disgraceful example bad driving.

Anyone has to hope he'll be ok - but he does ask for trouble! He'll carry huge insurance of course, but that helicopter could have been needed elsewhere for another emergency and his emergency situation was voluntarily entered into. As a human being, I am sympathetic and of course I hope he'll be OK - but his whole behaviour/occupation is unnecessary and detrimental to others who have no choice. The show should stop i.m.o.. OH loves cars but no longer watches Top Gear - reckons it is ridiculous and I agree with him.

I suspect most emergency situations are the result of people voluntarily entering into an activity...like driving, diy, outdoor pursuits, even just taking a walk...
