Is "enough Is Enough" Enough?
What does it mean? What's the plan? Rod Liddle has one, he says;
" There are hundreds of people identified by the security services as being ‘of special interest’ because of their patent and frequently expressed wish to kill us all. Deport all of them who were not born in Britain — kick them out. The lot. Those who are British citizens should be kept under the equivalent of house arrest and jailed if they transgress the terms of that house arrest.
Of the other 20,000 who are ‘of interest’ to the security services, deport all those who are not British-born. Do not let people who have been fighting for Isis in Syria and Iraq back into the UK. Close down Islamic schools. If Muslims want to send their kids to Islamic schools, let them do so in Bangladesh or Qatar, not here. We are not yet an Islamic country.
And start investigating the mosques with a bit more rigour. How about that? "
Well, how about that?

Make the island self sufficient then.
A comparatively small initial outlay for livestock (pigs would be good) and building materials, then it would be up to them to make the most of it.
Didn’t you (more or less) support the island idea at 8.20?
Tagging and bugging must be much cheaper than prison, as they would still have to financially support themselves

Jesus, we've entered la la land. Pigs. Ha! What size of island do you think it would require for 12000 prisoners & staff (and their families if it's that remote) to be self sufficient. Slaughterhouses, bakeries, kitchens, waste facilities, storage facilities. C'mon, I said joined up practical thinking.
naomi; //What's your solution, Zacs? //
Have you not realized how he never has one - to anything! The policy is always the same; either, say the question is rubbish, the questioner is stupid, and/or the reference is to a questionable (in his eyes) source.
I'm not sure what he is a master of .... evasion?

Khandro, just call me master of practicalities.
Bigbad, I clarified that one at 11:21.
Please don't take your frustrations out on me. I want a solution as much as the next man but it has to be politically acceptable, practical, and not prohibitively expensive (which is the same as politically acceptable really).

^ I do try naomi, and as I explained I have had a bit more worldwide experience that most AB members!
By the way I have often worked in the Cambridge headquarters of the British Antarctic Survey and have talked to many people who have done their 6 months 'down south' . Their opinion was that it was a valuable experience but the day to day life was very boring . Did you know that less than 5% of the personnel at the UK's 'Halley' base are actual scientists , the rest are support workers !

Don’t be so paranoid Who is ‘taking their frustrations out on you’?
I’m not frustrated. Exasperated, maybe, at the fact that our country has become so culturally diverse that we now face such danger from some of the people that we have allowed in, and their offspring.
You seem to be agreeing with an idea, then calling it a stupid one, whilst telling people they are naive and need to do joined up thinking and are in La La Land.
Of course you can comment on other people’s suggestions, but your unpleasant way of replying makes you seem like someone who really doesn’t have much to say.

Bigbad, I can't be doing with non joined up thinking. It's great to come up with ideas but not silly ones for a very serious situation. I've given reasons why it's not financially practical to imprison them. I've pointed out that it's impractical to tag 20000 of them and monitor their every move. I've asked what size island would be required, without a response (other than you saying they could be self sufficient....which is another silly suggestion).
If you think that's not contributing then you have a very strange view of what contribution is.
The trouble is, people don't like being told they're wrong so it's a natural reaction defend your opinion, however impractical it is.
