why would he? it's utopia! Loads of dosh and every one bar the few destitute, the definition of socialism.
Let's face it, the looney lefties in Venezuala are no threat to anyone, so if Corbyn is a cheerleader for them, it doesn't much matter.

More worrying is Theresa May's chummyness with the disfunctional and irratic leader of the the world's greatest super power.
I think it has been a while since Corbyn made any sort of a comment on the Venezuelan regime. The suspicion will be, if he does not, that either he secretly approves, but naturally is embarrassed to say so, or he secretly disapproves, but does not want to alienate his "campaigning" colleagues on the left.
Other leading left wing parties have condemned Venezuela's president, as have many in the Labour Party.
So yes I think it is important: if he continues to say nothing I think it would be verging on the outrageous.
Venezuela - o god did you notice the tree huggers on the Beeb spelt this 'Venezuala'? - is an economic basket case in spite of being an oil producer ....

it would be like Corbo championing the model democracy of Zimbabwe....

[O god he hasnt has he ?]
only if May condemns the brutal theocracy of Saudi Arabia.
and only again if the Queen rebukes the much married King Mswati III of Swaziland for his many wives
One spouse at a time should enough !
( unless you are princess Di of course)
jno. Don’t understand the analogy there. As far as I’m aware Mrs May has never actually lauded the brutal theocracy of Saudi Arabia – has she?
the only connection between Corbo - May , Mugabe and the Queen is .... that they are unconnected

( sorry - fixated by the liar paradox

I suppose the analogy between Corbo - May - Mugabe and the Queen is : " some analogies ... arent." [analogies].
kinda the same thing
Naomi,
// Mrs May has never actually lauded the brutal theocracy of Saudi Arabia – has she? //

Perhaps this is May at a fancy dress party?...

Same as Naomi ... can you present a video or article in which May is lauding the Saudi regime, Jno?

Gromit I assume you know what 'laud' mean's?
"mean's"? Oh my laud! :)
Talbot, clearly he doesn't.
I really don't see the point in him saying anything, personally.

Maybe if he's asked about in an interview or something, yes, he should. I think it's a bit ostentatious to make a statement out of nowhere about how horrible the Venezuelan regime is.
All I know is that they wasted the South African World Cup for me, that constant drone.

Using my iPad and the way AB jumps about on it nowadays, Douglas ... That little miss shake isn't too bad a result.
He doesnt have to obviously but as Ick points out above (not often we agree!) keeping silent will lead to 'conspiracy' theories that could cost him in the future.

I really dont see the analogy with Saudi or Mr Trump. Desperate or what?
I don't see why, though. "He liked Hugo Chavez" is far less damaging than the IRA stuff and that seems to have had little effect.
Shut up lest they all come here like the mexican he lives with
// Theresa May insisted vital counter-terror intelligence from the Saudi Kingdom has saved “potentially hundreds of lives” in Britain.

And she spoke of her hope to “intensify” relations with Saudi in the post-Brexit world. //

Sounds like lauding to me.

Of course the power grab by the Venezuelan President by way of a spurios referendum mirrors exactly what President Erdogan has done in Turkey. There was no condemnation of Erdogan by May. In fact her first overseas trip as Prime Minister saw her brown nosing the Islamist dictator.
