I hope they catch those responsible and make them pay for the damage and give them a hefty fine and a suspended sentence. No excuse for it, and while I appreciate the problem caused by this sort of thing, you have to remember you don't own the space in front of your house. We have no off street parking where I live and you just have to park where you can. The biggest problem is those who park a car either ten feet from the car in front, or ten feet from the car behind, They never reverse park and take up two spaces with one car. Mindless vandalism, which should be result in appropriate punishment.

I suspect this is a frequent occurence by people from outside the areawho don’t want to pay to park which is just not polite. Its like the folk who used to park where my Mum lived and then get public transport to work to avoid paying to park
Coaches are cheap but generally very slow with quite a few pickup points off the direct motorway route.
It's totally wrong what was done here but I suspect it goes further than just parking on the road. I live near a school and you would be amazed how many people (including the teachers) think it is acceptable to park across the driveway. The council now have to give tickets out and it has curbed it a bit but if someone pushes off for two weeks and is not a regular offender that is not going to work.
Perhaps the rip of airport/hospital/town centre car parks problem should be addressed?

This was probably the last straw for the resident who did this. And yes I appreciate that it isn't 'known' who did it but if anyone thinks a random stranger just happened along to do this then they must live on a different planet.
Parking is an pain in the Harris especially if you live near airports, train stations and schools and even hospitals. But that's life. You don't get everything your own way and sometimes you just have to suck it up.
I would have been more enclosed to try to lock them in so they couldn't get out.

// CCTV is not usual in residential streets, OG.// someone
//The British Security Industry Authority (BSIA) estimated there are up to 5.9 million closed-circuit television cameras in the country, including 750,000 in “sensitive locations” such as schools, hospitals and care homes.
The survey’s maximum estimate works out at one for every 11 people in the UK, although the BSIA said the most likely figure was 4.9 million cameras in total, or one for every 14 people.
Both projections were higher than previous estimates which ranged between 1.5 million and four million.//
o well normal day on AB ... BUT
the majority of domestic CCTVs are for crime prevention use ( ! yes I am aware of the irony of that statement but hey it IS AB) - and so dont have to be registered - which means they arent available for scrutiny
also the people having the requisiste CCTV are presumably the window smashers
I just parked my car on the street one night in Manc and had all my windows smashed - thirty years ago so learnt my lesson then
oh hahaha I must tell you
they were doing this outside the old Childrens Hospital before it moved ( manch again - Pendlebury this time ) - so you came off a shogeroo of a week end on call and got shouted at by a few retired residents who had shifted out of their beds in the morning in time to swear at you.
Oh the good old days !
the memories !

I saw that, I can understand the problem but part of the problem is Luton airport who charge £21 a day to park a car! This means parking can easily cost more than the holiday! £294 parking for a 2 week holiday! I have also heard that people park in 'paid for' car parks outside the airport and pay for a few hours parking only, they then get a parking penalty of £50 but that is a lot cheaper than paying for airport parking.
BBC Look East last night interviewed a resident who, after hearing a noise at night, looked out and saw two young males running away.
Just vandals or youngsters hearing their parents moaning about the vehicles and deciding to take action?
I have just booked 10 days parking for Luton Airport, it cost £54. Very reasonable I think.
