Nothing Short Of Sexual Assualt
Imagine if a man had done this on the tube, a bus or in a nightclub, he would be before a judge before you could blink.
The police were so scared of upsetting people they didn't dare arrest him for fear of starting a riot.

That's just how I imagined a London bobby would act, grabbing as many random women as he can and rubbing himself against them in a good natured semi-erect kinda way. Makes ya proud.

All the talk about 'disrespect' and 'what if it was your wife' and 'what if it was on a tube or in a nightclub' can be simply discounted.
This was not a woman out in public without recourse to defence if she felt she needed it, this is a professional police officer. She is wearing a night stick and she is carrying a pepper spray, and she has a colleague a few feet away.
Do you honestly think that if she thought this man was being the slightest bit threatening, she would not dealt with it herself, of asked her colleague to intervene?
I am not suggesting that she thought it was the best part of her shift, but her body language indicates that she does not feel threatened, or not in control of the situation.
This officer is probably experienced in all levels of misbehaviour, and is perfectly capable of assessing that this is a reveller who has probably had a bit too much to drink, and is getting a bit carried away, and showing off, and if he starts getting serious, he can be dealt with then, but while he is only joking around, she is willing to tolerate it.
Making an issue out of some misplaced horseplay is not the way the police react - they deal with the situations appropriately, and in this case, the man stopped and walked away laughing.
It is clear he meant no harm, and it is clear that the officer did not feel under threat, or that she needed to take any action.
It is several country miles away from sexual assault.

\\I don't agree it's nothing, Zacs; but nor do I understand webbo's likening it to "stabbing, robberies, acid attacks"/
I was replying to cloverjo saying its the kind of thing that happens at the carnival.
\\It looked as if the policewoman was laughing. I'm sure she didn't enjoy the experience, but still accepted it as part of the atmosphere surrounding the carnival. //

Andy Hughes.
this is from an old thread, it seems you agree that a man shouldn't put his hands on any woman he fancies.
It harks back to Dave Lee Travis's defence - 'I am a cuddly tactile person ...'.

\\That's fine, but it doesn't give you carte blanche to put your hands on any woman you take a fancy to, and expect her to enjoy it because you are the cuddly Hairy Cornflake.//
