Apologies if this has already been posted.
Is this mother a prejudiced person or is she right and has fat acceptance gone too far?

I couldn't give a tinker's cuss how fat my kid's teachers are, just so long as they can teach. But that aside, I do agree with cassa - heaven forbid if you refer to somebody as fat nowadays, you will be accused of the flavour of the month phrase of 'body shaming', which is nonsense phrase that I find particularly annoying. I wonder how long it will be before fat...

Weight is a delicate subject. My maternal side of the family are slim. My paternal side are a bit chubby but they are also tiny. 4 of my dads sisters are under 5ft.
I'm slim but my sister is obese. Her words, not mine, it's because she's a greedy pig. I don't think her weight would influence any child not living in her household.

Apologies, just got back from Aldi.
Sqad, I had the same conversation just this morning. OH and I passed a "bus shelter" as he called it next door to the staff multi-storey. It was rammed with Nurses smoking.
The woman in the article did strike me as being a bit odd and these days parents can be very precious about who has any influence over their precious angels but you cannot escape the fact that she does cite some harsh truths which are clearly unpalatable to some.

Don't know, Mikey, and someone's been suspended by the look of it.
Additionally, I only posted this thread out of spite - apparently.
In actual fact I saw the news article yesterday and my husband, who doesn't mince his words, thought the woman was well within her rights to refuse to let obese people teach her child, whereas I thought it was a tad harsh.
On the verge of being a parent myself, I have been giving this some thought.

I think it's being suggested that I was trying to get at another Aber, hereIam, whereas the Aber in question has apparently lost loads of weight so it's just a load of old tosh. As BM says, let's not derail the thread.
Very valid point, Zacs. Anorexia is a very dangerous influence on children and I see that some modelling agencies are banning models who are under a certain size.
