Apologies if this has already been posted.

Is this mother a prejudiced person or is she right and has fat acceptance gone too far?

I couldn't give a tinker's cuss how fat my kid's teachers are, just so long as they can teach. But that aside, I do agree with cassa - heaven forbid if you refer to somebody as fat nowadays, you will be accused of the flavour of the month phrase of 'body shaming', which is nonsense phrase that I find particularly annoying. I wonder how long it will be before fat...

There was an article some time ago with a heavily pregnant woman extolling the virtues of drinking and stating how there's actually no evidence to suggest that 10 units of alcohol a week was unsafe for an unborn.

The DM likes to fly in the face of convention and ruffle feathers.
TIC people just trying to brighten this thread up a bit.
my mum smoked and drank with me and my siblings, they didn't seem to bother in the early sixties, never did me any harm! Before all the elf evangelists have a fit, yes I agree it is not good for those who are duffward to smoke and drink.

"Duffward"

You cheeky devil...
i see no difference as long as the quality of teaching is excellent.
as i child going through the schools yrs i had many err different sized teachers not that i noticed then, although i i had a few skinny old maid, nasty tug your ear teachers and had some very nice bigger should we say teachers, the mother is being ridiculous.

I wonder how long it will be before fat people are protected by an amendment to the Equality Act!

Until fat people stop portraying themselves as victims and take some responsibility for themselves, as far as I'm concerned they have nobody to blame but themselves (yes, yawn, some people are fat due to a medical condition - but these unfortunate people are very much in the minority).

Some fat people may say they are happy with their size, but this is a front and they are not. Nobody would rather be fat than slim - they may say they are, but they probably cry themselves to sleep every night.
I have to say that in my 40 years as a teacher, I don't think I met/worked with any teacher who was actually obese. Just saying like.
dd bang on and don't beat yourself up, I am pretty fat myself and I know exactly why. There is no medical condition that can get around the laws of physics, I'm sick of all this chaval cack about glands etc, complete and utter bowlocks. It's a simple equation. I just wanted to say that as a less than svelte person I for one am 100% aware of why, I have no excuses. Fatties everywhere get honest with yourself at least.
Just start avin a fag now and again 3t. Appetite suppressant and wards off "bird flue". (^_*)
I volunteer as a reading tutor at my local Academy (helpful for them as I can bring expertise, so I get the difficult children) and 2 or 3 of the staff are what I would call 'obese'. So far as I can observe. they are good and efficient teachers. I really cannot understand this 'body-ism'. It's the teacher that counts. Some are black, some white, some Asian, some fat, some thin, some old, some young - what the heck!
Well that's how I feel - she's a nitwit and troublemaker.
Does this woman think that she has the right to design a teacher, to her specifications, for her sprog? What about other parents? They may not want all the same characteristics in a teacher, there couldn't be a consensus. Seems like she has too much time on her hands.
Deskdiary at 20:02, I completely agree.
Ludicrous person with entitlement issues. Would she reject child benefits, as a lot of tax payers are overweight?
as far as teaching is concerned does it matter ? as long as the child is leaning..however it is not really a great example to set a child of healthy living..and I do agree about the PC brigade..one gets sick and tired of walking on egg shells lest someone takes offence... a spade is a spade.. a fat person is fat.. why should the world tiptoe by because some have a huge bitter chip (or far too many chips of the deep fried variety ) on their shoulders.. just sayin'...
I agree with most of what murraymints says but I would like to add that most people I know who are obese tend to have a problem Body Odour it must be difficult to wash all the creases and crevices on thier fat bodies
lol Jordy xx
They could use a sponge on a stick. I believe Henry 8th
Had a dwarf that used to wipe his bottom with said sponge on stick. No there's a career.
EEK !
fine. Lets call fat people fat, ugly people ugly, stupid people stupid, and so on. oh and ugly and stupid people everywhere get honest with yourselves! Some ugly people say they are happy with the way they look but this is a front and they are not. Nobody would rather be ugly that beautiful and they probably cry themselves to sleep every night.

Its a long time since I have read such unpleasant prejudiced views expressed with so much relish on AB and the people concerned should feel ashamed of themselves.
don't confuse facts with prejudice Woofy..makes no difference to me how big folks are...'tis up to them.. but don't expect the world to mind it's Ps and Qs all the while for their life choices by and large...no pun intended...
