Who is this guy Lord Harris, to say that Theresa May, is a hopeless leader of a very weak Government, and that we would be better of under a strong labour Government like that of, Tony Blair. Think the Cons should refuse his financial donations in future, that will teach him!!! .

Not sure telling a major Tory donor where to take their money does the party any favours, to be honest.

Yes, alba must confess I thought fools and horses,
a very apt title to have posted this under
Well if they refuse his donations he'll be richer and they'll be poorer.
That will certainly have told him :-)
I think he is absolutely right - whether he should say it so publicly is another matter. She is a very poor leader who with arrogance presided over a disastrous budget without consultation with the cabinet, which has wrecked her party and done serious damage to the country.
Though I fear the UK is stuck with her until Brexit is completed, because a leadership challenge would lead to even more weakening of the Tories.
He's also correct that she was an ineffectual home secretary.
"Strong labour Government like that of, Tony Blair" - lay of the steam son!
10 years in office, with two landslide victories and three election wins in total, was pretty strong, no?
Question Author
YES, I will just repeat that for you TGT ,so you can really savour those words "Strong Labour Government like that of Tony Blair "
Spoken by a Consevative millionaire and member of the ,
House of lords , and a life long supporter of the Con Party
even he can see what's happening !.
yeah but he was a Tory! The first thing he did in 1997 was to invite TGL round for a 1 to 1. Labour cannot really win by being Labour, they had to be "Noo" Labour, ie Tory.
....reel em in, got a live one!
oh dear, all gone a bit quiet in the lefty love in! PMSL!
it's lunch-time TTT, dunno what time the right-on whingers eat.
10 years in office, with two landslide victories and three election wins in total, isn't so much strong as an indication of a weak alternative. It had been not that much prior for the Tories, too. Plus positioning himself and the party away from their core values meant that they became popular with those who otherwise were unlikely to vote Labour. It was more a combination of crafty management and good fortune. However one must have suspicions regarding the sanity of, and wonder about the possibility of dementia, of anyone who'd want him back.
OG: "Plus positioning himself and the party away from their core values meant that they became popular with those who otherwise were unlikely to vote Labour. " - so in effect becoming tories! PMSL!
Quite, which is why, when he left the job, the pendulum swung all the way to the other side. Now one has Corbyn in the top slot. It happens, it'll calm down in the future.
That's why Labour are called Red Tories. Blair saw an opportunity and took it. May is hopeless and flip flops on everything, say what you like about Thatcher she stuck to her guns and didn't u-turn every five minutes
True, not even when it was obvious to everyone else she was on the wrong track.

"Theresa May a hopeless leader of a very weak Government" easily solved, Get rid ! ok, easy.

In theory, yes, but there is the small matter of who replaces her.

I don't believe the Tory party has anyone that could be sure of leading the party through Brexit, and through the next election, and I think they know that too.

Mrs May is here for the foreseeable, not because she is the best, but because replacing her will cause more problems than it solves.
