With the polls showing that UKIP is already on the rise again under the excellent interim leadership of Steve Crowther, which can only continue with Nigel at the helm, what will be the consequences of a strong third party?
Khandro......If you really think that Farage is going to appear over the horizon, leading a new Party, then I think you are being delusional. And what on earth has France to do with anything ?
The last time we had a major new party was represented by the SDP, and we all know what happened to them.....the farce of the Two Davids. All that resulted in years of Tory rule.
He seems to be distancing himself from the anti-Islamisation factions of UKIP/the right.
Don't know why. He's espoused similar views himself.
Might split the right wing vote, imo.
Mickey, do some "Googling" of Macron and then you might get the relevance. Clue - A "new" Party winning.
Spice, it may do but on the other hand it removes the accusations of far right tendencies and associations with the BNP KKK etc that people like Mickey would put about.
We will have to wait see a) if he does it and b) how he pitches it if he does do it.
ZM, just because you meet someone doesnt mean you agree with them or want to emulate them. It's a pity a few more politicans dont meet those on the far left/far right to get a grip of why these parties exist rather than trying to ignore them and let them fester.
As regards the AFD, exchange the word Muslim for the word Jew, and we are back in the 1940's again. You would have thought that Germany would have learned by now.
Farage shaking hands with a Far Right Party leader....says it all really doesn't it ?
Before we know it, we will back to the classic days of UKIP........loony-tunes and nutcases.....the sort of people that UKIP say that they have got rid of.
