I have been having great fun reading ABers old comments from last year, predicting Merkels's demise today.
The AfD will be a coalition Partner, and will get a lot of seats, but they are still a minor party. Merkel will have to be aware of their opinions, but she is still in charge.

The AfD are unlikely to figure in a new Grand Coalition.

The SPD (2nd place party) have indicated they want to be in opposition than in coalition. So the CDU will patner with the FDP (Pro-business Party) and the Greens, who Merkel has been couting the affects offor the last year.

So the AfD will be a minor opposition Party, rather like the SNP in the UK.

Just to make it clear what the AFD stands for ::

They are climate change deniers.

They want Germany to do a "180 degree" turn regarding the countries role in WW2.

They want to bring back conscription.

They are against same-sex marriage

I have watched several pieces of film of the angry protesters against AfD's success, and their average age looks to be about 15.

Don't quote the gospels, Khandro, I don't think he's capable of getting the point. Anyone who goes into a "Racist! Neo-Nazi!" rant about people because they are "against same-sex marriage" (I'm one such, by the way) while at the same time supporting and defending a group which is 90% for making homosexuality illegal has a problem with even the most basic logical and moral concepts.

The attribution ought to be redundant, Khandro. It is, after all, one of the most famous poems of the 20th century.

A few years ago that collection of anoraks (all five as I recall) in "Eggheads" didn't recognise the quotation and couldn't actually name either poem or poet.
