There an awful lot of jobs at risk, in an already economic blackspot. As Farage and Trump are Best Mates, have we now found a job for Farage at last ?

Couldn't we persuade him to hop over the Washington and have a word in Trumps shell-like ?

Any "special relationship" would be with the country, not with transient leaders of it.
Boeing has had a billion dollars just from Wahington state (to stop it moving to another US state). What playing field?
What Farage has to do with this is anyone’s guess …. unless of course, having completely ignored the thread on Labour’s bizarre plans for the economy which have already set alarm bells ringing in the City, and the thread on Labour’s endemic and utterly shameful anti-Semitism, Mikey is employing his usual diversionary tactics. ;o)
If that is the case then I'm sure the Courts will come to the right decision.

At present, as Gromit points out above, we seem a little light on facts. Still why let that stop you all from salivating over a new Farage/Trump bashing eh?
I'm sure he wouldnt do that Naomi. I think he is currently composing a nice answer to those threads right now!

No Naomi....Mikey is trying to find a job for Farage. He has said many times over the last few months, that Trump is an awfully good chap, and now he has the chance to prove it !
Jno,
Perhaps we should levy a similar tax on US manufactured aircraft ordered by UK companies.
You really dont understand what Mr Trump is trying to do. Do you?

Putting America first, especially those in problem areas like Detroit. Firstly I suspect Sir Nige would agree with what he was doing and secondly even if he didnt he would not be stupid enough to think he could change DT's fundamental election promise.

It is what we should be doing here too.
Gromit. We can't due to a small thing called the EU.

Otherwise yes I would agree where the playing field is not level.
That would help, Gromit, though they may soon have to pay more for Airbuses, I suppose. Sometimes it's awkward being in a country that's lost major manufacturing industries. Hopefully we will soon all be flying in Spitfires again.
jno, your beloved EU would not allow it.
Mikey, //No Naomi....Mikey is trying to find a job for Farage.//

No, Mikey. Mikey is using his usual Farage and Trump bashing as a screen to allow Mikey to avoid the threads that embarrass him.
As I said Ymb, it's awkward when you don't make things any more and have to get them from other people. Are there any British plane makers left since Patrick Wymark died?
I recall the French being accused of heavily subsidising Renault and Peugeot to stop them going under. Nothing was ever done about it. Level playing field my cars.
Jno,
The EU took Boeing to the WTO about Washington State's $billion subsidy, and won.
But the US Government Appealed against the decision, and they have recently won that appeal.

quite easy this one - the American planes destined for Her Maj's bath tubs should be taxed at 220% import duty.

Without those transient leaders to run them, a country is just another strip of land.
and give the contract to build the fighters to Bombardier.
Quite so, Gromit, subsidies to US companies are ok.

There are still people who think Britain after Brexit will get wonderful trade deals from the US. I have my doubts.

/// I suppose. Sometimes it's awkward being in a country that's lost major manufacturing industries. ///

Have you forgot about Roll Royce the world's best manufacturer of aero engines yet.

/// Hopefully we will soon all be flying in Spitfires again. ///

Flown one, have you?
