OK jno. I said that he should not have been allowed to approach the stage and that the security guard on the conference room door should not be the last line of defence. I'm not going to design what the room's security policy should have been, but I don't believe it's beyond the wit of security experts to have done so. She is the PM and the terror threat level is currently "severe", having only recently been downgraded from "critical".
fair enough, I've no doubt there are endless papers and protocols on how best to arrange security. But I do think in the end you also have to take account of the symbolism of separating a leader from her people just at a time when she needs to be seen to reach out to them.

She should be commended for keeping the speech going as she's been suffering from a heavy cold all week. Being a type 1 diabetic wouldn't have helped. The P45 stunt was quite amusing. The letters dropping off the sign was hilarious, the company responsible for the display will be getting their own P45 this morning. Good job the O didn't fall off in country :-)
