Labour have never chosen a female PM, yet the Tories have had two, both of which have been extensively criticised by Labour, can we take it from this that Labour are against the idea of placing a woman in charge of the country?

since the Labour Party were founded in 1900 (117 years) there have been appox 20 years of labour PMs, 13 of Psuedo Tory and 84 Tory. Thus Labour are only occasionally trusted and therefore have many fewer opportunities to have a female PM.
make that 68 Tory and 16 Liberal, forgot we did once have Liberals in power.
Barbara Castle lived in the wrong era, or she could haave been a leader.
It's my great regret that Angela Eagle didn't stand against Corbyn, as I think she might - might - have won.
Otherwise it's a bit of an anomaly that the Tories have had two female leaders. Obviously there will be a female Labour leader one day. When the right person comes along.
Well.......what do you mean by female?

Tory female MP's are easily distinguishable....they look good, dress well and act as females.
Labour has a problem.....at least one of them, acts and looks like a male and prefers females as sexual partners......now could she qualify as a future female PM?
That would be debatable.
The other contenders.....well....i accept that they ARE females, but not my idea of a woman, in looks, demeanor or action.
when will we get the first TG PM?
"Thus Labour are only occasionally trusted and therefore have many fewer opportunities to have a female PM. "

Certainly there have been more years of Tory rule in the more recent era, but convincing Tory election victories are also becoming something of a rarity. The (with hindsight) dizzy heights of 2015 are also beginning to look like an anomaly
Sqad: Good grief. I thought it was us Catholics who were meant to be sexist bigots.
Probably not in our lifetime TTT. You may well get a TG Leader but I doubt they would get elected by the masses who are not right-on liberals.
scooping........just my opinion as to how i view a woman.
Yes I am hoping that post by Sqad was tongue in cheek.
Maybe they look for the right person to fill the role rather than seem inclusive by choosing someone based on their gender. That stated, all female shortlists imply they tend to do the exact opposite and discriminate.
ich.......no, not tongue in cheek, I was just defining what i considered to be a woman (female) in order to comply with the OP.
I gave it.
But, as you brought up the name (I desisted) would you describe her as a woman and more importantly would she?
Probably because Labour have seen what a disaster became of the Con party through electing Two female PMs. making the mistake once was a disaster but twice was a disaster waiting to happen.

/// Fail to understand why the shape of one's genitals should have any relevance to one's abilities to function as party leader. ///

Obviously Labour thinks it does.

I wouldn't dream of calling the 'Richard' heads.

Well, we are a broad church here, and everyone is entitled to their view. I will leave it at that.

Then what you are actually saying is the fact that women don't make good PMs?
Don't know about electing a Lady Labour PM, but I bet Jeremy Corbyn has got his Number 10 shirt ready.
'Two female PMs. making the mistake once was a disaster but twice was a disaster waiting to happen.'

Aww, Gully. If you'd only said that the other way around.
