Am I the only one who has an overwhelming desire to see Sadam's mate, in an orange jump suit in Guantanamo?

Actually the other George does believe in a free trial. Remember that he said the Guantanamo detainees would be given a free trial and would then be put in prison where they belong.
Who do you mean by "Saddam's mate"? If you mean one of his co-accused in his trial, then the answert is no - anyone convicted in the trial in Baghdad should be imprisoned in the usual way. If you mean George Galloway (as some of the people in this thread seem to be assuming), then the question does not arise - because George Galloway is not "Saddam's mate" and never has been.

Fear for the future of our 'civilised' western' society, as we breed a 'dumbed down' population unable to think for itself, question information, understand the difference between fact and fiction, and blindy accept spin as truth.

Few of the sheep who've posted on this thread have even the faintest knowledge of the history and background to this story, fewer still the intelligence or interest in checking the details for themselves.

As a starting point could I humbly suggest some of you actually go back and 'read' the transcripts of this disturbing, and long-running saga.

The man should be soundly flogged around his local mosque.

irrelevant to whether he is guilty or not. personally i don't like the bloke but quite admire the way he stuck it to the yanks in the senate.

what i do find interesting is that donald rumsfeld has met saddam more times than galloway. bet he was doing a bit of brown-nosing when he tried to sell him a bunch of weapons.

Presumably the people who sold arms to Saddam will also face trial, eg Rumsfeld.
