Is dressing up an 8 year old transgender boy as a girl, only going to solve the issue for a short time? Would it be better to have a sex change operation now, or later in life?

All I got from the Link was a rather annoying and loud ' Protect Yourself against Fraud' advert
Any decisions other than dress, much later.

Link is working ok, it's from the Mirror.

Not here it ain't, The Mirror may explain why though
Too soon for an operation. Just let them find out how serious this is by letting it be out in the open.
You can't perform gender surgery on an eight-year-old!
You probably could if you really put your mind to it.
The results of treatment were pretty terrible thirty years ago
and now we are told it was All Wrong

and we should do it different - I would be inclined to leave it to the experts - as there are some seriously possed off trans gender people out there all saying that whatever the doctors did - it was the Wrong Thing and their lives were wrecked as a result
JJ - there are twin boys attending a school in which my great-nephew attends. One goes as the boy and other goes in dressed like a girl with the pony tails.

I just think how can a young kid of that age possibly know what they want.
Is it any wrong for the hermaprodite child - what way can that child be brought up.
The term for anyone born who does not clearly fulfil all characteristics of just one sex is 'Intersex' now Jenny.

Each person would handle or have their case handled individually. There's not really a guide, just as there isn't for life in general.
An operation should only take place for an adult, otherwise you will be in the position of parents 'changing' their childs sex to satisfy their own needs/beliefs.

No sex change now. I saw a little boy in the supermarket with long blond hair and a tiara. I wasn't sure if it was a boy or girl TBH, but so what. Let them be what they want. No surgery yet though.
My son used to like tottering around in my high-heeled shoes, and I have to admit - sorry, Jim - that I was a tiny bit worried about him. He's now a man in flat shoes.
As stated in the article, it *can't* happen now. She will be closely monitored over the next 10 years, and she has to go through puberty first. Maybe she will change her mind, or realise this is not right for her. But she'll also have the time to adapt, and for others to accept. Luckily she seems to have a good support network.
You don't need to apologise to me, Clover. :)
Mamy - is hermaphrodite not PC - only intersex - so if there are any intersex people on here - sorry.
If you mean Politically Correct, I have no idea - not something I bother myself with.

Hermaphrodite is I'm sure still used in some circles - plants and animals say.

It's a word that's all.
ok
If ever I offend and I'm sure I do it's by accident and not design. :-)
You didn't offend me Mamy - I wasn't sure if I was in the wrong with the H word. Have a good night Mamy x
