I am curious as to why the names of accused members are published before proof and a trial have been organised - don't we do innocent until proven guilty anymore?
Andy.it is quite common to publish names of the accused before trial.
Question Author
Andy...Not sure what point you trying to make here ?

It is quite normal in Britain, for people to be named when they have been arrested. This case is no different to 1000's of others that happen every day.

Until they have been found guilty, they will continue to have the status of "innocent until proven guilty"
Why the mystery 22 year-old then?
Question Author
By the way, these innocent men, if they are Members of
National Action, are Members of a seriously bad organisation. ::::

I expect the 'usual apologists' will be along later to defend these misunderstood men........ ;o)
\\Until they have been found guilty, they will continue to have the status of "innocent until proven guilty"//

Not so, there have been plenty of rape cases where the mans name has been published before trial only to be proved innocent later and the accuser was telling lies but her name remained anonymous.
Question Author
Dougie....we haven't been told....for "legal reasons" apparently.
Question Author
As some of the men that have been charged, are serving Members of Her Majesties Armed Force, perhaps the one not identified is involved with some hush-hush branch.
Your 13:53 comments seems to be a movable feast then, Mikey.

I'll stick around for more informed and learned comment.
It would seem that there is one who has not been named.

There does not seem to be much information regarding the threat to the MP, obviously if it proves to be a direct threat, then of course they should feel the whole weight of the law upon them.

But so far it seems that their biggest crimes seem to be that
members and supporters applauded the murder of Jo Cox MP and that the group had carried out a series of small, but confrontational, demonstrations in towns and cities throughout England, one of its most notorious events saw masked members - many of them very young men - gathering outside York Minster to make Hitler salutes.

So how can they be compared to the banned al Muhajiroun network? Who I am sure have got much more threatening plans arranged given half the chance.

/// to all intents and purposes, has organised itself in a similar way to the banned al Muhajiroun network - the extremist Islamist youth movement. ///
Question Author
What is wrong with what I said at 13:53 Dougie ?

What I said is factually accurate, unless you disagree of course !
Webbo...people who lie about rape are often named! Just because someone is found not guilty it doesn't mean they are innocent. It's usually due to lack of evidence and it won't stand up in court.
Question Author
AOG...as usual, you need to re-read the link above.

To help you, this is what it says ::::

"A man arrested as part of an investigation into the far-right group, National Action, has been charged with encouragement to commit murder"

and

"A 22-year-old man, from Lancashire, who cannot be named, has also been charged with the intention of committing acts of terrorism and "threats to kill"."

Finally ::::

"National Action became the first far-right organisation to be banned in the UK in December 2016. It means that being a member of or inviting support for the organisation is a criminal offence carrying a sentence of up to 10 years' imprisonment"

Those are the facts AOG, as they stand at the moment, and that is why they have been arrested and charged.

This thread has nothing to do with "al Muhajiroun network"
///This thread has nothing to do with "al Muhajiroun network" ///

Oh, it will........if only to muddy the water.

These danged apologists......
Pity they can't put all their excess energy into performing some 'Action' to help others.
Question Author
Webbo....I have a certain amount of sympathy with what you said on the issue of rapes cases, and there is an argument that could be made for the accused not be identified until found guilty. I am not saying that it should be so, but that some people could make a case for it.

However, this case has no element of rape, as far as I can see.
Thanks mikey.
Question Author
Thank you Webbo...its nice to have a proper debate, isn't it !
Question Author
Jack....( 14:21 )....how true, how true !
