You're not allowed to dress up as anything or anyone, living or dead that is in anyway not of your own gender, colour, race, creed, sensibility, sexuality.
No historical character that may in anyway shape or form have been seen to, in actuality or imagination, be responsible for anything that someone somewhere doesn't like.
No sombreros, no gashia girls, no uniforms, no drag queens and not even superheroes (not gender inclusive enough).
Get used to it folks. Dress up is reserved for princesses (but not real or dead ones) and cartoon characters unless they fall fowl of the above lists!!!

IMO blacking up, yellowing up, reding up, blueing up, greening up, violeting up, etc. none are racist of itself. It depends on circumstances, why it is done. Unfortunately society can't seem to cope with such distinctions and want things labelled either wrong or right for simple understanding.
I used to enjoy the Black & White minstrel show. Good singers, lovely ladies dancers in spangly costume. Never seen a Yellow & White minstrel show though :-( Nor a Black & Yellow one come to that.

In this instance of course it's offensive because it was intended to be, he was dressing Kim Jong Un, in another scenario it may not be, although some people are indeed keen on being offended by everything right down to me plaiting my hair (cultural appropriation apparently- NOT). things like the Black and white minstrels are offensive because of association and connotation, Silurian Morris Men on the hand are not, and no amount of anyone saying they are will make it so.
It would appear that Mr Walliams did not dress up as a Korean in order to demean Koreans as a race of people, he dressed up as a specific individual the thinking, I imagine, is that Kim is a 'scary' character because of who he is, and what he does, not because he is a Korean.
So I would conclude that there was no racism implicit in the costume.

You didn't 'thing' so YMB? Well I never... If you bothered to read my post instead of responding like a kneejerking twonk, you would see that I was actually lamenting the overly PC attitude that's prevalent and suggesting that people ought to use their discretion a bit more when considering racism, cultural appropriation etc- but don't let the truth get in the way of a good rant because you don't like someone lol.
