I have no idea what is alleged etc but really, it seems that Spacey has been summarily pronounced guilty.

The film makers have only the success of the film and revenue in mind.

His guilt/innocence is for the legal folk to sort out.

It certainly does seem that his peers have reached their own verdict. Have there even been any formal charges? Has he even been arrested and interviewed by the police?

Even Adam Johnson was allowed to continue to pursue his career whilst on bail.

I seem to recall he didn't ( which seems a bit odd - you'd have thought that if he had done nothing wrong he woul'd have vigourosly
denied it ) - but instead chose to inform us that he is gay

as things stand, nobody would go to see a film with him in it. Whether he's guilty or not doesn't matter - I don't know if he'll even be charged with anything. But audiences make their own minds up what they'll pay to watch, for a variety of reasons, and filmmakers act accordingly.

he's not been found guilty, he's been found unmarketable; it's a commercial decision, not a legal one, as mamya has said.

Guilt by media is a thing now. Didn't you realise that?

In this case I suppose it would depend on what he said to the producers when they asked him if it was true.

but there has been more than one incident reported, the mother who came forward and said that he abused her son.

Reports are not proof of guilt.

There are people willing to jump on a bandwagon for money or publicity.

JNO has it, unmarketable at the moment, we may think the same if investing millions of dollars in a film.

I think he has been pronounced guilty by the media, etc., but in a statement said he "Wants to deal with this honestly and openly and that starts with examining my own behaviour".

They have it all on film.

If ypu have spent $40 million making a film, you don’t want anthing to Jeopardise getting your money back at the box office. If your star is in court facing lurid charges then that will generate a lot of bad publicity, when the film least wants it.
So it is purely a commercial decision to airbrush him from the film, and not a pronouncement of his guilt.

His career is in tatters, as each new accusation comes out. To my knowledge he hasn't denied any of these accusations, merely saying that he "can't recall"

In the meantime, Police here in Britain are investigating claims that he has assaulted other men, of various ages.

In the mean time, the entertainment industry is washing its hands of him as fast they can....as Mamy has said, this is purely a business decision.

So, we wait until these investigations are complete. I hope he has some very good lawyers, here and in America.
