"Primary schoolchildren should be free to dress up in a tiara or superhero cloak without comment from teachers or pupils, the Church of England has said." - right oh so no bullying will take place because the Church has decreed it! Unbelievably naive! So cue every attention seeking parent sending their boy in dressed as the sugar plum fairy! what could go wrong?

Role playing is a great method of learning, bags first go at wearing the riot gear.
and once again TTT you are talking about making targets as though blame lies with the victim. I bet you think that girls in short skirts are asking for it don't you? .....and I bet you also disagree with burka wearing....
The only wa y you get rid of bullying is to increase diversification. In Finland where they have no uniform ( like most of the rest of the world) there is very little problem with bullying. here some people like to make all the little people look alike and wipe out their individuality, and that teaches the kids to be the same. Get rid of the school uniform, it doesn't help poor kids look the same as the rich ones, it just makes their parents poorer, and let everyone wear what they want in fabulous diversity, then it's far harder for anyone to be picked on for being 'different' because everyone is.
It's a helluva time to be normal right enough.
In countries I’ve been to the children I’ve seen have all been in uniforms.

How come no one seems to bat an eyelid at girls dressing or playing like a boy?
no idea....and in Japan, wearing school uniform survives happily alongside a strong cosplay trend.

"and once again TTT you are talking about making targets as though blame lies with the victim." - no I'm not do try and comprehend objectively. Being correct is cold comfort when you are suffering. I accept x1000 you are correct it should not matter but it will and those kids will get bullied that's not blaming the victim, It's recognizing the final effects. It's cold comfort when your kid is being mercilessly bullied to suicide to know that you are correct. Please try and understand.
TTT Nobody is MAKING the children choose to dress up. What you are advocating seems to be insisting that children conform or be bullied. Can you not see that is wrong?
Question Author
no, do try and read what I've said.
The church has always been out of touch. As kval says... stop trying to make everyone appear the same and nobody will bat an eyelid.
So what do you think should happen TTT?
I thought it was quite fitting that the person discussing this matter on TV was called Nigel GENDERS.
Question Author
"So what do you think should happen TTT? " - nothing at all, stop trying to social engineer school kids. like pixie says above.
That's right, let them be...

//Nursery and primary school in particular is a time of "creative exploration", it said, where young people should be able to pick a tutu, tiara and heels - or a helmet, tool belt and superhero cloak - "without expectation or comment".//

As the article states.
So the church shouldn't speak out about use of religious beliefs and the bible to abuse and belittle children? The article seems to have changed and is now more clearly about roleplay choices when dressing up....are you saying that teachers should intervene if boys choose to try on a dress or girls want to be superman?
Question Author
religion is the root of most world problems, it should not be in schools at all.
now you are avoiding my question....should children be allowed to choose what they like from the dressing up box at school?
Children are certainly easier to converse with Woof.
lol mamya
Question Author
yes woofgang they should. they'll do it once come home after a days torture and never do it again. It's the attention seeking parents that worry me. They'll be suing the school for the right for ocean moonbeam to dress up like a lumberjack and the kid wont want to because she'll by the know all about it by then but that wont stop the parents kicking up a stink in the meeja and the kid will become another sacrifice on the altar of PC cobras. Clear enough for you?
