"Primary schoolchildren should be free to dress up in a tiara or superhero cloak without comment from teachers or pupils, the Church of England has said." - right oh so no bullying will take place because the Church has decreed it! Unbelievably naive! So cue every attention seeking parent sending their boy in dressed as the sugar plum fairy! what could go wrong?

Your concern is now about parents bullying their children? It started off with the church and then bullies at school. I'm a bit lost.
TTT

You advocate that nothing at all should be done.

That's just as well, because that's exactly what the proposal is putting forward.

Primary schoolchildren should be free to dress up in a tiara or superhero cloak without comment from teachers or pupils, the Church of England has said.

So technically, you're in agreement with what the CoE has decided.
Re the cost of uniform v non-uniform, it's rubbish to say that uniform is expensive, my granddaughter goes to a non-uniform school and her clothes cost far more. It's possible to get school uniform at very low prices or is the idea to send your children to school naked?
//Meeja// ? Oh dear.
Some school uniforms are very affordable, others less so - they should all be available on the high street as far as I'm concerned.
That's clear TTT. Worrying but clear. Are you OK?
Ours are expensive and there isn't a choice. At least with their own clothes you can spend as much or little as you want.

not explain it again pixies it's obvious to anyone what I'd saying. Parents will send there kids to the bullies so they can get on the news. Simple.

I think you might need to have a word with Social Services about some of the parents you know...

in my day woofgang there was no PC cobras sunshine.
Which is the PC part?
Seems like someone has overdosed on the 'Smug and Bombastic lozenges', today......

Religion ought to have no place in our schools but this particular issue has been blown up out of all proportion.
Not much change there, then.

well you are either pretending or actually are very thick either way I don't suppose I can help much.
Me? I'm thick... x

thanks for the confirmation I'll bear it in mind in all future exchanges.
I'm in Pixie's gang, two short planks me.
Seriously TTT you seem to be so upset.....one might even say distraught by this....and mentioning a suicide.....I wondered if this had affected you personally? I mean I will yank chains for the fun of it but not if its genuinely hurtful.

Have you considered something else...you ask whether the Church is completely out of touch.

What if the Church are completely in touch?

Think about it - what is there in the Bible that teaches anything about preventing boys dressing as girls or vice versa?

Perhaps the Church is in touch with what the vast majority think about bullying.

It's entirely possible, that you're the one whose out of touch.

I'm not saying you are...just that it's a possibility.
