Tragic loss of life whatever the circumstances. It's a high crime area, or was when I lived there for a couple of years, minutes from where this awful incident happened.
All the people criticising some of the comments, what would you be saying if this car had ploughed in to a family coming the other way killing them all and the occupants of the stolen car survived.
No sympathy here, if they were not in the stolen car they would not have died.
Mikey I believe yesterday you said something along the lines of 'I don't mind if the thread is pulled' which isn't quite the same as asking for it to be so. Anyway whatever the background this must be sickening for the families and the services who had to come across the scene and deal with it.
at the end of the day lives were lost, that can only be sad irrispective of circs, fortunately no others were taken, but for pity's sake..children were involved here, innocent or not it is all very regrettable
just to be clear, I have no sympathy for the heap of metal, have sympathy for the owner of the vehicle who may lose wages through having no transport to get to work.
Having been on the receiving end of that, some years ago, it makes me seethe that some folk think it's OK to steal or break into other people's property just for 'fun'
Albs nobody is suggesting it is ok to steal someone elses property in any way whatsover of course it is not and had they not then this whole tragedy would not have happened, but it did and whatever one may think of the travelling community, and I certainly do not hold a candle there, the resulting loss of life is very regrettable even if avoidable,
Another thing to consider here is that 5 out of 7 occupants of the car were under 16 years of age. If they were engaging in that sort of criminal behaviour at such a young age, what would they have been doing in 10 years time. Hardly striving to make the world a better place!
Of course they didn't deserve to die but I'm not going to feign sympathy here.
I doubt my opinion will go down well with many but I honestly couldn't give a stuff.
