"Five people, including three children, killed after stolen car crashes into tree in Leeds - two boys in custody"

No other news at present, but it sounds like a dreadful waste of life.

What a stupid waste of life. The kids were 12 and 15 years old. Their poor families.

-Talbot,
Is the the ‘David Jones’ Twitter account that has been exposed as a Russian paid agitator ?
What The Funicular^

I have no idea who this David Jones is. When looking through Twitter for news of the crash he had put out a tweet with a picture of two of the kids, it makes the story more real ... plus gives you a chance to decide whether to carry on with the gypsy angle.
on the BBC news this morning (other news programmes are available) they mentioned one of the dead was a 28 year old father of 2 with a 3rd on the way.
Was the man lacking something?
What on earth was he thinking allowing youngsters to be in a stolen car?
Did he steal it?
Am sure more info will be forthcoming in due course.
alba - the police haven't confirmed that all the dead were travelling in the car; the 28-year old could have been walking by.
I know it takes time for them to do their investigations, but was hoping for a bit more info, one of the arrested 15yr olds isn't hospitalised.

bhg, it's possible that the 2 arrested were the only ones in the car and the others were pedestrians - horrific accident tho.
alba // one of the arrested 15yr olds isn't hospitalised //. He's probably well-versed in the use of "No comment", though.
I fear you may well be correct, bhg,
All seven people involved in Leeds car crash were in the vehicle, police say.
I haven't commented on this before, because it wasn't clear who was/wasn't in the vehicle.

If the post from Jomlett is correct, then it confirms my feeling that the only people I have any sympathy for are the poor owner of the stolen car and the emergency services who had to deal with the aftermath of the accident.

The families may be grieving, but then the thieves who die in these events are always "loveable rogues" or "good as gold really" - which (to be harsh, but I think fair) is a load of old dingo's kidneys - they were lawbreakers who finally got some comeuppance, rather than cocking a snook at the rest of society.
Hi Sunny-Dave, I thought I was the only one who noticed everytime a young man dies, he had a heart of gold and everybody loved him. Even though he had his faults. The never tell the truth, right little toerag, the neighbours houses and cars will be a lot safer.
Just seen all seven in the car, a Renault Clio, how on Gods earth.
Dave, be careful. Saying you have sympathy for the owner of stolen vehicle will have aog's wrath visiting you
(aye, being savaged by a sheep lol)

If what jomlett has posted is true (I have no reason to doubt otherwise) then to hang with them quite frankly. Still have no idea what on earth was going through the minds of the 24 and 28 yr olds- shocking.
The never tell the truth, right little toerag

you know this 12-year-old toerag? He's obviously at fault for not asking to see the car's logbook, as I'm sure you always did before getting into a car when you were 12. But I'd like to know the basis of your knowledge of his character and general worthlessness.
I wasn't talking about the incident Jno, I was agreeing with Sunny-Dave in general terms.
So, according to some of you uncaring lot, the penalty for stealing a car is death?
Ken - WE don't impose the death penalty, the thief chooses it.
BBC now say that 6 people were in the car and that all killed were in the car.
I'm not an uncaring person, the thieves chose their karma.
They'd still be breathing if they hadn't stolen a car.
