Exactly, O_G. JJ you are wittering rubbish, honestly. I won't eat Danish (or any EU) bacon or pork anyway. Ever seen the horrible porcine 'concentration camps' in Brittany? (I also knew a French chap who worked in an abbatoir.)
We had German cars, French wine and cheeses, all the things you mention before we joined the Common Market, no problem. You are having a panic attack - which is exactly what the EU wants a lot of people to have. Have you not understood how nasty and vindictive out soon-to-be-late masters are yet? Don't give them any pleasure.
I think you are doing this for effect. 'Calm down, dear....etc.'

If you think for even one minute we won't get German cars, Danish bacon, French wine or cheeses, or be able to go on holiday to sun drenched beaches then you are as mad as a box of frogs or just plain daft.
As for being a EU city of culture... other non EU countries have been EU country of culture. Eurovision is a joke that once again we are a major contributor to but are shunned regardless of our song entry. As for sport. Well as someone's who couldn't give a fig about sport I don't care if we are in them o right not but I suspect it is like everything else. Not being an eu member doesn't stop participation sometimes.

If you are serious? The rest of the world will flood in pretty fast. TBH you have a point, in that I have been saying for years that we need to be more self-sufficient. However, remember WW2? We survived - my late father-in-law was on the convoys which sailed to and from the USA --- and they were being targeted by subs and bombers (his ship was torpedoed in the Atlantic). It certainly won't come to that. It will be fine. The EU countries do not want to lose.

Remember 'full of smoke and fire, signifying - nothing'.
