he should be more worried about these property prices than anything. buy a flat in a tower block pay 1 million for it, not unheard of, then deny you the space for a vehicle, can see that working well...

sorry second bit yes he's correct but the main problem is that poor people have personal private transport and as such it is too cheap.

we went without a car for several years in London, Bazile. Public transport is very good, though black cabs are way overpriced.

It's only newbuilds. And only in some areas. And consultations haven't even begun.

i don't drive but i would be seriously peed off if someone didn't let me have a parking space if i bought a million pound property. London prices are off the scale anyway who can afford a home here.

emmie, £1 million won't get you much in London. My place is probably worth that, bog-standard flat in a semi. I certainly wouldn't expect a parking place to go with it, but we can park in the driveway. It's 100 years old so not affected by these proposals.

Car-free estates sound like a good idea. Good for young couples who can manage with public transport, there's plenty of it around. If people don't like them they can go somewhere else and pay more.

i am fully aware of property prices especially where i live. My 1 million was just a figure. My property is worth more than a million i'm sure...

as i said there are thousands of disabled drivers in the capital, one of them is my neighbour who needs her vehicle come what may.
