It’s a double edged sword but it Looks like we just might have a white Xmas AND payback for the last few mild winters we received

I have the app on my phone. It gives an hour by hour forecast and you can zoom in to your area, or let it use the locator to give the forecast for wherever you happen to be. It even tells you if rain is expected ,how long before it starts and how long it will last.

It has been updated in the last few weeks and now says it is more accurate. I mainly use the rain radar image that actually shows where it is raining and which direction it is moving. It used to let you put in weather reports from your location but that has stopped since the update. I suspect some were having a laugh by putting in incorrect information.
“Which elderly and which animals?
I look after my dog and I don't have elderly relatives. Are you suggesting I should "worry" about other animals and the elderly in general?
I'm obviously a very horrible person because I won't worry about people and animals I don't know - I won't even give them a second thought.”
Well that’s your call, I’ve bought some warm coats which I’ll be giving to my elderly neighbors as well donating to the homeless, it costs nothing to keep an eye out for others this winter

you can use http:// www.rai ntoday. co.uk/ for that.
http:// uksnowm ap.com/ may also come in useful in winter.

Accuweather used to be accurate and easy to deal with giving various aspects of their forecast in great detail.
Somebody must have decided it wasn't getting enough attention and needed a facelift (remind you of anything?) and in doing so wrecked a perfectly good system.
I'm back with the BBC & Met Office now, it's fine.

I use this site Douglas and find it pretty accurate, particularly so for 48hr predictions using the calendar provided.

/// I remember 1962/63. That was cold! ///
Yes remember that too Tilly, my wife and I went round to the old People's Bungalows asking them if they wanted anything fetching from the shops, leaving them with our address and identities.
Can you imagine anyone trusting people like that these days?
Oh how times have altered.
