DDD is being remarkably stupid here. Other Presidents in the past may have appeased him, but there is no guarantee that Trump will do the same.

yes no idea what jno is on about, alienate china! no debts, sorted. Which is why China will not want to alienate all it's customers by backing a complete eejit.
Interesting, and a little worrying, that London is nearer to North Korea than California.
err, on what planet scooping? this is Earth.
I think the issue might be no further credit. But it might be a good thing to wean countries off of living on borrowing. Borrowing for investment and a better future is one thing, borrowing because you are in a debt spiral should be avoided.
ok it seems UK is about 200miles closer, apologies scooping, it doesn't look it but hey ho, a flat map can distort.
5,626 miles to California
5,349 miles to London

Google figures
On this planet.

Pyongyang to San Francisco is about 5600 miles.
Pyongyang to London is about 5400.
China's not kicking off, though. They're not remotely a rogue state, they're the very opposite: they decide on a policy and stick to it for centuries. It's everyone else you're expecting to change their approach.
yes which is why I have apologised above.
If they had any sense at all they'd develop a missile that could hover instead and just wait for the planetary rotation to bring the target to them.
It's also shorter in a straight line, under the surface.
I was still typing before refreshing to see your apology, hence the extra post.
gawd help us douglas, do look up relativity.
A major problem is that North Korea controls information so tightly that most of the population do not even know that there are any other countries in the world apart from South Korea ,Russia, China and the Great Satan USA. They are also told that their standard of living is the highest in the world , better than any other country and it is all due to the Dear Leader and his government.
There is no internet apart from a very small government controlled site, no TV , Radio or newspapers other than the official government ones. Tourists are limited to a group of 8 maximum and have to have two official guides with them at all times. They can only see what the guides allow them to see, and can only stay in the country 5 days. Tourists can not bring in mobile phones or computers, they are confiscated on arrival and not returned until the tourist is out of the country.
Until a few years ago a NK citizen could only make a phone call from a main post office and had to book the call a week in advance. The call would be monitored and recorded.
Schoolboy error OG, I need to learn to think outside the box. Sorry.

Here, hang on, put the weapon in a box and sent via courier to where needs nuking.
A lot less polluting than burning all that rocket fuel and ensures accurate delivery.
Tora, give yourself a day off and read stuff for what it is.
Gawd help us TTT, do stop trying to pretend you know more than other people about stuff like that when you literally already made an arrogant assumption in this thread and had to back down when five seconds' searching demonstrated that you were wrong.

I wasn't going to say anything before but seriously... you do this sort of thing all the time, and are nearly always wrong.
Perhaps North Korea are just hoping for a Nuclear Weapon threatening enough to act as a deterrent. The US would (they hope) think twice before invading if the North Koreans can cause serious damage in return.

There's only one winner in a nuclear war between North Korea and the US but the price paid for that victory could be heavy indeed.
This mad man is not only threatening the US but he is also threatening the whole of humanity, if he was to kick off.

That being the case why don't the other two big nations, Russia and China join the rest of the world and impose strict sanctions against his country?
I was wrong about a distance but I do understand why a missile launched to hover is BS. How am I wrong here? I have not explained anything. This missile hanging stuff is primary school stuff. Ok then explain to me how a missile launched and hovering will work?? oh and examples of "nearly always wrong" - please.
