Just tumbleweed Danny, just tumbleweed.
should be made to pay back the 260 k, thieving git.
Every Party has its black sheep Danny, as you well know....how about Lord Ashcroft ? :::::

"Ashcroft has been described as a "tax exile", and for a number of years lived in the UK enjoying the controversial non-domiciled tax status. At the time of his ennoblement the Cabinet Office said that Ashcroft would be taking up permanent residence in the UK for tax purposes, an undertaking described in the newspapers as a "pledge"and a "gentleman's agreement", but he did not in fact claim to do so until a decade later, when a change in the law would have required him to quit the Lords, had he not done so. Then in 2017 it was revealed following the Paradise Papers leak of offshore investment documents that Lord Ashcroft remained a domicile of Belize despite having claimed to have given up his non-dom tax status in 2010
There should be a law against this type of thing!
Old new Mikey.Nothing to do with this thread.
^news^
but this guy has claimed for a house that doesn't exist, to the tune of a small fortune, that;s not right is it.
What's Ashcroft got to do with this thread?

hazi....nice attempt to change the subject
I am pointing out that all Partys have their problems, and the Labour Party is just the same.

By the way....you asked for a comment. and that is what I gave you !

By the way, you have stated many times on here that you are a Labour supporter, unless I have got that wrong, in which case I apologise.
Mikey, if that was meant for me let me assure you that I have never been a supporter of Labour.
Then I apologise....I must be confusing you with somebody else.

For the record, if Lord Bassam has done anything wrong, then I am quite happy to him to meet the consequences of his actions, in the same way as I would any other person.
No need to apologise Mikey. We all get confused at times.
It doesn't seem as if there's an 'if', Mikey. He has said he'll pay some of it back, so far.
Especially at my age !
'Lord Bassam last night promised to pay back up to £41,000 in expenses he claimed for commuting between Westminster and his Brighton home.'

The £41,000 travelling expenses he fiddled.
