Mistletoe fumble without consent is rape, police warn. That is a headline in today's 'Times' newspaper.

I always thought that I understood the word 'rape' and what it meant but obviously not.

Mistletoe and Whine. :))
Sp1814. I completely agree with you. Plus lack of moral responsibility engenders indifference to consequences.
“Police Service of Northern Ireland have now removed the tweet and say it has been taken out of context.”

You could say that. I read this drivel in one of the better newspapers (certainly better than The Times – but that doesn’t mean much). The quote from the PSNI was this:

“If you bump into that special someone under the mistletoe tonight, remember that without consent it is rape #Seasons-Greetings”

It wasn’t taken out of context. It was incomplete nonsense. What they should have done was inserted between “tonight, and “remember” a phrase something like “…and you end up back at her place”.
A four seaters aircraft crashed into an NI cemetery, so far they have recovered 36 bodies:)
Three words to waste any thinking person's day:

Twitter erupted today...

Lost in translation, the polis said 'muscle toy' clearly referring to this year's must have action figure doll thing.

Somebody's just getting a cheap laugh at the accent. :-)
