There's a complex relationship between Trump and the far right.
I wonder what it means for Trump's old ideological mentor Steve Bannon, who was the one really pushing Moore. Trump doesn't seem to know whether he is fully behind Bannon or not.

I said earlier today, that Trump could have just stayed silent, about someone he clearly didn't like or want, but instead, he gave him a ringing endorsement, only to change his mind the following day !

If Moore had won yesterday, would he now be withdrawing his support ?

Of course wouldn't....he is withdrawing his support, because to continue to support Moore would have been toxic.

Donald Trump really only gets support in the form of "up yours" to people his so-called apologists don't like. Whether he's "draining the swamp" (presumably to leave more room there for Donald Trump), or whatever. It's not a support base, I'd suggest, which is all that healthy, or all that likely to survive.
