They first introduced commemorative stamps in 1953 for the coronation and it consisted of four stamps. Over the years this has multiplied to about 9 or 10 sets a year and each set can contain up to twenty stamps. It has become a money making racket as a lot of the stamps don't commemorate anything important but they know the world wide collectors will still buy them.
