The Title does not suggest to me that is is about the Fairy Tale Character, Snow White.
To do that it would need at least one extra word on the end to indicate what they are calling her.

The protests were about asking people if they were dreaming of a white campus. Just like the ones in the southern USA that students used to know.

There is a clumsy way around it by using punctuation marks, e.g 'snow 'white.
