Mikey, if they've nothing to come to they don't have to come here. Maybe they, like many others, have heard the streets of this country are paved with gold. Must be such a disappointme nt.

One viewpoint... I assume it's some of the policies described here that have been ruled as unlawful.

There is an EU immigrant homeless lady in the little market town near to me where she sells The Big Issue and she is so well loved and well liked that every year the town club together and buy her presents and cards and she goes and has meals etc with lots of the local residents. Gives me a really nice feeling to know that a lot of the people on this thread are not representative of the country as a whole, because God help us if you were.
So the government is going to round them all up. Good ,round them all up & place them in a warm & safe environment. Let us not forget 'These people' are our fellow human beings. Quite a lot have suffered dreadful hardship to get here. As they were not stopped in the first place let us show our well known compassion & help these poor unfortunates at this time of year, & for goodness sake stop others at our borders.
Emmie...what if they don't have a passport?...it's been lost, stolen, taken from them by authorities who don't want them to have freedom of movement? Maybe you should try rough sleeping out in all weathers, with other desperate people for company while still holding on to your most valuable possesion(s). You seem to think it's a simple solution, when in reality it isn't. Also, we don't have the ability to keep people out...so how do we "simply" send them back?
then somehow they should be deterred from coming here, no job, no where to live then they shouldn't be allowed in.
If they have a job lined up then ok, but that doesn't mean to say they can afford a place to stay, as everyone knows it costs megabucks in London just to feed yourself let alone find a flat or flatshare.
