“is understood that the cafe contains an animal petting area but it is unclear whether any animals are involved.”

I just can’t get the vision of poor screaming baby seal pups and baby pandas running around screaming and on fire out of my head.

try not to think of those things, this was in the cafe so some way off the main animals..
Baby pandas in a petting area? Think not, thank goodness.

I remember being in a zoo abroad and the young zoo hands were drunk and brought a baby lion, sloth and I think it was a gorilla or orangutan to be petted and knowing the brits’s unholy relationship with alcohol I wouldn’t put it past them to have copy catted them so I really hope so.
Just to put it in perspective

"Over a billion farmed animals in Britain are killed each year in slaughterhouses. This include over 10 million pigs, over 15 million sheep, 16 million turkeys, 14 million ducks and geese, 975 million broiler chickens, 40 million so-called 'spent' hens and over 2.6 million cattle"
Would any still be in a petting area at night ? All locked away safely I would hope.
Your OP is a little melodramatic and could be traumatising to some of us animal lovers.

Let's hope no animals are involved.

Thread title is outrageous.

Sky News just reported one Animal is unaccounted for, an Aardvark.

“and could be traumatising to some of us animal lovers.”

LOOL! Traumatising? “US”

Remember who started this thread, yes me, and if people are that easily traumatised maybe they should keep away from my thread, the news section, this site or the the internet?

Read the post above, an aardvark is missing, so is that melodramatic?
One aardvark unaccounted for, apparently.
Question Author
Sorry if that came across as rude, wasn’t my intention and I forgot you’re pregnant:)
An Aardvark has been killed and 4 meerkats are still unaccounted for :o((

Oh my god, that’s horrible tigger, I read that and burst out sobbing, I’ve just managed to pull myself together. Why do things like this always happen to the weak and innocent? I hope that if this fire was intentional that the perpetrators are caught and the scum who did this are charged with animal equivalent of murder and that the law throws its full weight on the criminal dirtbags.

Animal murder X5
I apologise in advance,, but I cannot bring myself to open the link.

Just the thought of any animal (human or otherwise) is frightening.

A deliberate setting on fire ? Hope they get the nasties and prosecute to the fullest.
Very sad , poor Misha - the staff must be heartbroken.
Nothing other than the death of the aardvark has been confirmed yet. It could've been an accident. Either way its just awful and if if it is arson I hope the perpetrator serves a very lengthy sentence.
To die by fire is a terrible thing. I remember the fire at Manchester Dogs Home fairly recently, when many dogs perished and it was arson - just awful.
"Oh my god, that’s horrible tigger, I read that and burst out sobbing, I’ve just managed to pull myself together."

Blimey.

I hope you never have to face a proper problem.
Very sad for the animals, glad it wasn't worse.

“I hope you never have to face a proper problem“
