That's what its ultimately about minters. If fox hunting was REALLY about pest control then what is the need for all the dressing up and rituals (such as 'blooding')? Its really all about power and pleasure, any claims to the contrary are bogus and nothing more than a smokescreen to hide the real reason behind such a barbaric activity.
If it was about pest control they would choose quick dogs.
Instead they choose to use relatively slow dogs with enormous stamina. This makes for a good long chase (and therefore the hunted animal is terrified for longer)
The number of animals actually caught makes little difference to the overall population of foxes. Also ,as they are territorial animals, once one is killed another will move into the territory.
It's all about giving fun to the hunters and not pest control.
This is something I feel very very strongly about. Anybody who kills an animal in the name of sport is beneath contempt.
I shall stop reading this thread as my blood pressure is soaring. If I said what I really think I would be banned.
Ratter //... I could probably have shot 4 or 5 a night.//
But not in the daytime? strange that hunting with hounds doesn't take place at night, foxes being largely nocturnal. How do you think they are conveniently present just at the time they are wanted in bright daylight?
I've answered that question above; frequently they are released from captivity by game-keepers.
Islay...its a perfectly justifiable question for Nailit to ask....as a Hunt supporter, you should be able to justify your support.
Perhaps you just liked a good canter around the countryside on your horse. Nothing wrong with that. The weather here is glorious this morning....steel blue skies and wonderful sunshine, and I am sure it would be lovely on horseback.
But couldn't you and your friends have just ridden out and had a good time, without killing the wildlife ?
//I refuse to answer that nailit as I am not prepared to accept the type of responses that I would recieve.//
Funny that, wonder why? We all know what the answer would be tho dont we Islay? The answer would be yes..you do enjoy hurting animals for pleasure.
nailit really are you going there? silly man!
Mikey really you expect me to answer that sort of question when you can already see the uneducated response I receive!
LOL, refuse to answer (because you know full well that you take enjoyment from hurting animals) and resort to calling me a silly man. hahaha, oh god, cant stop laughing.
//you expect me to answer that sort of question when you can already see the uneducated response I receive//
It was a simple enough question? Do you enjoy hurting and killing animals.
