//In the latest in a string of interventions since the June 2016 referendum, Mr Blair attacked Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn, saying the party's "timidity" over Europe under his leadership will usher in Brexit if it continues.//

When will he understand that he’s yesterday’s man and that Brexit is going to be ushered in. Control is out of his hands - and his frustration is palpable.

Johnson has said the following about Iran (on twitter, of all places...)

"Watching events in Iran with concern. Vital that citizens should have the right to demonstrate peacefully."

"We regret the loss of life that has occurred in the protests in Iran, and call on all concerned to refrain from violence and for international obligations on human rights to be observed."

Also on facebook:

"The UK is watching events in Iran closely. We believe that there should be meaningful debate about the legitimate and important issues the protesters are raising and we look to the Iranian authorities to permit this.

We also believe that, particularly as we enter the 70th anniversary year of the Universal Declaration on Human Rights, people should be able to have freedom of expression and to demonstrate peacefully within the law.

We regret the loss of life that has occurred in the protests in Iran, and call on all concerned to refrain from violence and for international obligations on human rights to be observed."

Togo's right, there has so far been nothing I'm aware of from the Labour camp (except for a somewhat confused call for solidarity against the regime " and against U.S. interference" by Owen Jones).

If you want to know why see my link at 09:37 Thu.
Blair is yesterdays man yet still sticking his nose in where its not wanted.
Emmie.....lots of yesterdays men are sticking their collective noses into the BREXIT issue....Heseltine for one.
another has been who should be put out to grass.
He is of course quite right: labour has plainly adopted a tactic of say as little as possible about Brexit (or indeed a lot else) and let the Tories feck things up. This tactic is quite understandable and is proving quite effective. If you feel strongly about Brexit tho - one way or the other - then it is exceedingly frustrating. From a Remain point of view labour oilfield do a lot more to hold the government to account but is quietly and deliberately failing to do so. Of course this should be no surprise as Corbyn is anti EU and always has been. Hadn’t changed his mind on anything in 40 years as the popular wisdom has it. Possible longer
:-)

I think Blair is very frustrated by his lack of control.
poor Saint Tony of the Psuedo Tories hasn't got a Scooby has he, Corbyn is a brexiteer luvvy, get with the program.
itchy, at 10:21....you are right of course !
mikey: "What he is saying is that the final say on our departure should be made by the Houses of Parliament," - the people had the final say on June 24th 2017, all the rest is posturing.
2016 - is it that long?
Naomi: "Mikey, I can hardly believe you're actually supporting someone against your practically sainted Jeremy!!!! " - PMSL - the clue here is "practically" - Tony is Sainted so he out ranks jezza in the Mikey order of things.
Who said?
1. `Above all, the European Economic Community takes away Britain's freedom to follow the sort of economic policies we need.'
2. `We'll negotiate a withdrawal from the EEC which has drained our natural resources and destroyed jobs.'
3. `On the day we remember the legend that St George slayed a dragon to protect England, some would argue that there is another dragon to be slayed: Europe.'

Tony Blair!!! Meehhh Blair.
TTT....Parliament has the right to make the final decision.....even May now accepts that.
Question Author
TTT, haaaa! You're right!! That explains it! :o)
yes mikey, but what does that mean in practice? If they turn it down we cant stay in can we? so it's meaningless.
TTT...all that people are saying is that Parliament should be consulted. Not sure what you find wrong with that ?
Does Bliar not realise that every time he speaks out these days, his words are met with sniggers and groans?
Mikey, the people calling for parliament to have a vote are not doing it in the name of democracy, despite their pretence.
They are doing it in the hope of defying democracy, and stopping Brexit.
Hoppy....that is your opinion, but I don't share it.
